I am 35+5 weeks and I don't think I have ever pooed as much in my life as I have in the past few days. It's getting ridiculous now. I know your body is supposed to clear out before labour starts, but can it not just wait until labour is actually going to start? It is most unhelpful to keep on emptying my body because I then have to eat again. I've not changed my diet, nor do I feel unwell, so I presume it is just pregnancy doing this to me. Anyone else suffering with this?

Ah Whisper you're not alone, I feel like I've become a poop monster for the past few weeks! I'm now 38+1 and I swear I'm not putting as much food in as what's coming out, blegh!

bulletwithbutterflywings · 19/11/2013 11:41

Its better that it happens now believe me! I shat my self with every contraction for the first few hours of labour. Not pleasant!

Mogz · 19/11/2013 12:28

Oh bullet how lovely :-\ (great username btw) I find its worst when I'm having a spate of Braxton hicks, which is always in the evening when I'm trying to watch something on telly, bastards!

LateBear · 19/11/2013 12:45

Funnily enough I am 35+5 as well and the same thing happened to me yesterday - I had stomach pains in the night as well and was really wondering if something was happening. It's settled down today but it was the first time I really thought 'oh oh!'

WhisperMen · 19/11/2013 13:08

it's bloody annoying as I keep getting cramps that turn out to be bathroom related rather than anything exciting Sad

I love pooing so i hope that happens to me! Nothing upsets me more than constipation, so i wont care how much i shit- bring it on!

sorry, tmi again haha

Rowboat · 19/11/2013 13:16

Yes! 35+3 and I had loads of bh on Sunday followed yesterday by d&v all day. Some contraction type cramps too. I was really worried cos we don't have childcare til 38 weeks when m&d arrive. All seems to have settled down again now, but Im exhausted!

WhisperMen · 19/11/2013 14:23

must be a joy of 35 weeks then Grin I don't know where it is all coming from though. least it's better than being constipated Grin

SweetPea86 · 19/11/2013 19:28

I'm 19 weeks and I just need a bloody good poo lol I've been consitpated for weeks have rabbit dropping poops for weeks. Roll on when I'm 35 weeks I hope to poop my self allll day long lol

2Labradors · 20/11/2013 06:34

Oh yes. I've been like this for weeks, I'm 38+5 weeks now. Usually I'm constipated and was having lactulose then tried fybogel earlier on in pregnancy. I feel like everything I eat goes straight through me at the mo.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 20/11/2013 07:09

I've been going 3-4 times a day which is way more than usual; I'm usually a once a day girl but had horrendous constipation earlier on in pregnancy. This is definitely, infinitely preferable to that!! I'm almost 36 weeks too.

RevengeWiggle · 20/11/2013 07:19

I was the same at that stage in my last pregnancy, alongside the Braxton hicks. Makes you think something's happening and then nothing!

Mogz · 20/11/2013 10:39

Aww SweetPea I remember that stage well, ugh! Have you asked your MW or GP to get you some laxatives? Highly recommended so you don't end up with the dreaded piles Shock
Had some pretty strong contractions last night, thought maybe they'd mean baby was coming but by this morning they'd gone completely and all that appeared was The World's Biggest Bowel Movement. Joys.

WhisperMen · 20/11/2013 10:43

Oh sweetpea I too remember that stage.

I know that feeling mogz same thing happened to me. I kept waking DP up telling him this was it, I was going to have a baby in the next few days. Woke up again this morning and the pain has gone back to the usual backache and sod all else. Why do our bodies insist on tricking us so much? It's just not fair.

OP posts:
Mogz · 20/11/2013 10:48

It's not fair at all is it? [sulks] I'm trying to stay positive and reminding myself that it is leading somewhere, it's good practice and hopefully encouraging a nice thin cervix. DH is convinced baby is going to be a week early be a use of all this but I'm not so sure, it's our first and I think he's just over excited Grin

WhisperMen · 20/11/2013 10:55

haha my DP is convinced it's gonna come on the due date because it's hit every other milestone bang on when it's supposed to. Still I'll keep bouncing away on my exercise ball in the vain hope it might help. Grin
