Nursing bras

I'm due in 6weeks and this time my boobs went from 36B to 38DD, however my bras feel tight again and I need to buy new ones I was wondering if anyone knows if I could just get away with buying nursing bras now so I save a bit of cash? Would that work or will my boobs change size after I give birth or within next 6 weeks...
I'm lost as last time I was pregnant my boobs only got much bigger right at the end and I didn't have to buy new bras every few months...

I wore nursing bras throughout both my pregnancies.

Thank you I'm off shopping tomorrow Smile

I'm really confused about when to buy nursing bras. Seems that buying them before you give birth might be a bit of a waste as your breasts might get much bigger post-partum but once you've had the baby who has time to go shopping for bras?? I know you can get them online but I'd much rather try them on first.

Same here actually I've been reading up again I nursing bras and most places say to wait till at least 37 weeks...

My boobs haven't been this big and I'm uncomfortable as it is I can't imagine them getting even bigger :(

I used bra extenders instead of buying maternity bras :)

But those only clip in the back don't they? If you go up a few cup sizes I'm not sure they'd be much help?

MightilyOats · 18/11/2013 20:22

I went from B to F over course of the pg so I wouldn't go mad on buying loads now, or maybe go for a half or full cup size bigger than you currently need? I wore a nursing crop top for the first week or two as it was stretchy when my boobs were inflating and shrinking with milk coming in and feeds.

I went to m&s last week and they were fantastic! Apparently, the bra I was wearing was so unsuitable it could damage my milk ducts. Nice and comfortable in a 36E maternity/nursing bra now!

m&s has a horrible reputation in bra measuring, I have to mention. Better advice here:

I would not bother with nursing bras. If you have a bit bigger boobs then nursing or maternity bras are not supportive enough, you'll have boobs around your belly. Maybe get one of those stretchy ones for early days, and then just buy normal bras in your correct size, get nursing bra clips from ebay and convert. It's totally fine to wear underwire during both pregnancy and breastfeeding, as long as they fit properly.
There's no telling really how big you get when breastfeeding, and also your ribcage is likely to shrink, so I would wait with fitting til the breasts have settled down.

I don't mind buying bras now because in my own personal experience I go up as well as down, so what I wear earlier on in the pregnancy will probably fit again six months after baby is born. I seem to have bras in every size between 32C/34B and 40E I kid you not Blush but this is DC4 and I have been breastfeeding constantly for seven years now so up and down like a yoyo mine are!!

I really like these bras. They are very supportive and give a good shape and I wore the H/I size so boobs were huge! They also do some soft ones that are quite flexible size-wise.
