Sorry for the coming post which will no doubt contain TMI!

For the last week or so i have been feeling quite damp in my knickers - it gets me running to the loo to check for blood but its just dampness which smells like wee. never actually 'wet' and it doesn't seem to happen when i need a wee - would this be urine or something else? I do laugh and walk a lot but ive been doing my PFs and i have the app to remind me.

i just cant pinpoint when or why this would be happening, i just sometimes get up and there it is. A couple of times it has happened immediately after peeing so i make extra sure im done now! Ive been reading that it might be a UTI but ive had no pain. I have been weeing a lot and apart from the frequency it seems normal. I know urine leaking is common in pregnancy but would it be happening to me this early on? Should i ring my midwife (i feel like i ring her too much as it is) or should i see my GP? OR should i just shut up, get some tena lady and keeping doing my PF exercises??? I just hate feeling damp and smelly like everyone can tell :(

Could be urine or discharge, it's very common for both throughout pregnancy. Pop a pad in your knicker so you feel a bit fresher and mention it to your MW.
Don't worry about it though, no one else can tell. And keep clenching that pelvic floor!

thank you! i think i am just over anxious about everything!

I've had this since 16-17 weeks. I think in my case it's wee because it smells like it.

i have had since the start, now 25 weeks, and have no UTI, just have to wear pads!

Sammi1986 · 18/11/2013 16:34

I have also had this since about 8 weeks, unfortunately mine is discharge. Eurh nobody warns you about these pregnancy symptoms!

Booklover81 · 18/11/2013 16:42

its horrid! i hate not being in control of my body any more!!!
Pads are the way forward i guess. i've also up the frequency of reminders on my pelvic floor app just in case!
Ive read on the nhs site there is a UTI bacteria that has no symptoms, i have the midwife 16 week check soon so i guess anything will show up then.

If it is urine it will just get worse till baby arrives. Be forewarned and buy some pads now.

I am 30 wks and have needed pads for about 4 wks now Sad .

The good news is that it will disappear when baby arrives .. the bad news is may come back permently during menopause, according to my consultant anyway.

The joys of womanhood eh?

We get all the glamour. A couple of times I've woken up in the night thinking my waters have started to trickle but nope, just discharge or pee if I've had to sneeze. Lovely.

Ah yes, I sneeze and cough with caution now Grin
