I'm a long time browser here but new to posting, so bare with me please!

So basically, I'm 7 days late for my period. I usually have regular cycles usually about every 28 days. My last period was on the 14th October which lasted 6 days.

The last time I was sexually active was on the 30th October.

So It's now been 36 days since I've had a period, I done a home pregnancy test when I would of been 3 days late, which said negative.

I've had sore breasts and a bloated stomach for about 2 weeks now. Also on Saturday when I went to the toilet I noticed a pale pink discharge when I wiped, and that was it. Now this morning I have woke up with period type cramps which lasted about 5 minutes, I went to the toilet and when I wiped it was a pale pink again.

Advice please!

Sorry to hear you're worried, could be either way. Suggest rest and test again tomorrow? Good luck!

The first thing I would suggest is taking another pregnancy test to rule it out. If you are not pregnant it's difficult to say what else could be going in without details history.

Could it be menopause? Have you drastically changed your diet recently? Have you ever had irregular periods before?

RevengeWiggle · 18/11/2013 07:41

I would take another test today or tomorrow with first morning urine. If it's still negative it could be that you had a chemical pregnancy but as you've not had any fresh bleeding I don't think that is the case. Good luck.

I'll do another test tomorrow morning then.

Forgot to mention that I'm 22, so not likely to be menopause. Not sure if it's any relevance but in the last couple of weeks I've had more headaches then I ever have, and also seem to be constantly hungry.

It's the just the not knowing what's going on that is getting to me.

No drastic changes to diet or anything, and I usually have a regular clock work cycle.

Which brand of test did you use? Clear blue seems to have a bad rep, I tested with CB and was negative, first response was positive straight away and very dark!

zebmm · 18/11/2013 08:15

Not sure of the brand but it was only a £1 one, I also done it late afternoon so I don't no if that would of made a difference.

Yeah it's meant to be the first pee of the day

Just keep testing every couple of days or so. In my first pregnancy I was also about a week late until it showed positive. Clear blue and first response initially showed negative but the cheap one from Boots was positive straight away.

eurochick · 18/11/2013 08:24

Cheap tests are fine but at an early stage you need to use first morning urine, as that is when the hormone is most concentrated in your wee.

sebsmummy1 · 18/11/2013 08:28

Stress can sometimes affect periods too.

Hope you get the result you want chick xx

zebmm · 18/11/2013 08:48

Thanks everyone.

I will be disappointed if it doesn't turn out to be anything, although that would probably be for the best right now.

Well I've now this afternoon started to bleed, so I'm presuming it's my period that's arrived..
