Is it safe to fly so early on in a pregnancy? I'll be 9 1/2 weeks. It's only an hours flight.

Yes, completely safe (I work for an airline)!

Yes I flew for 8 hours and was sick at the customs and immigration a desk! Baby completely fine and now 33 weeks!

Oh and I flew at 11 weeks

Aaargh to this, aaaarrrggghhhh.

I honestly thought you couldn't/shouldn't in your first trimester and missed out on a fabulous cultural wedding in Thailand (DH's friend, he went) because of it. That said looking back I'm not sure how much I would have enjoyed it with morning sickness and tiredness in that heat but still aaarrrggghhh!

I flew at 6 weeks for a friend's hen do in Corfu, so only short-haul, but was fine.

I conceived on honeymoon, so took 2 long haul flights at 3 weeks. Unbeknownst but had no concerns either way. Am flying again at 32 weeks, again have no concerns then either.

Incidentally, Some sources say that flying during the 2WW can actually help with implantation. Absolutely no scientific basis for that though i'm quite sure:)

Only if you have wings! Wink

I'm flying constantly for work - im 9+5. A couple of euro flights, been to the states, another euro flight this week and off to the Middle East in two weeks time. Hardly glamorous - stupidly early starts most days but I do make sure a) I'm near the loo if I can, b) drink plenty of water and on longer flights get up and walk a bit and c) I eat before hand now as plane food and ms don't go too well together! Good luck.

Yep, I flew loads including lots of work flights round SE Asia at around 9-12 weeks. I didn't have MS but did bloat up really badly, so wear something loose!
