I'm allergic to dairy, so I normally take a vitamin d3 and calcium supplement daily. I replaced that with a pregnancy multi vitamin, but now I'm 29 weeks I'm not planning to keep spending the £££ on the pregnancy specific supplements.

Is it safe to take a normal vitamin d and calcium supplement in pregnancy? My nails have got really ridged recently which makes me worry I'm not getting enough calcium.

Any thoughts? I forgot to ask the midwife at last week's appointment.

I'm taking adcal. Was told that was safe.

Definitely don't take coral calcium tableys though.
