Soooo having read MN post last week I went out for a dinner where there was a cheeseboard last night so I finally had some Stilton!!

It was so good. I ate quite a lot! Yummmmmmm

I was challenged by pretty much everyone I was with so had to dig out the NHS website link on my phone and show the updated "foods to avoid" page which now proudly declares that Stilton rarely has listeria.

My friend who has a 7 month old baby was astonished & angry! Especially as she loves stilton AND nuts and had avoided them both her whole pregnancy! I guess the advice on nuts also changed recently?!

Don't worry I didn't touch the yummy gooey looking Brie, even though I really really wanted to... Oh Christmas is going to be tough, but better because Stilton & nuts ARE allowed!

The advice on nuts changed ages ago (they were advised as fine when I had DS 3 years ago). Oh, and you can have baked Camembert or Brie as long as its piping hot all the way through :)

YAY!

Bet you were pleased Smile I am thrilled about the cooked Brie being allowed as there is nothing nicer than dipping a crusty piece of french bread into hot, gooey Brie Grin yum...

I've been through 4 blocks of Stilton in 9 days. Hello cholesterol.

Re brie and camembert - it is best if you can get one made from pasturised milk! then having it baked, yummy!

I'm beginning to think that people will guess from my menu choices at the staff Christmas Dinner - I am normally a pate girl!

I got through half a block of Stilton a night for four nights last week.. for the first time ever in my life I got a bit Stiltoned out Shock Won't last long though, I'm sure!!

By the way, halloumi (which nobody would question) is incredible in pregnancy. In my opinion anyway. Give it a go anyhow!! It's the saltiness I think.
