5 weeks scan today

I had a scan today at the early pregnancy unit. Had unusual pain down one side so they wanted to rule out ectopic pregnancy. I am 5 weeks 3 days gone. All the scan showed was a yolk sac. They've booked me back in for two weeks time. Should i be alarmed that I'm not experiencing any symptoms and there was not foetal pole there yet? I'm driving myself crazy

Congratulations on your pregnancy. It's still so early, to perfectly normal not to see anything. I had a scan at 5+2 for the same reasons as you and there was only a sac. 1 week later there was a tiny heartbeat I couldn't see it but they assured me it was there . There will be more to see in 2 weeks.
