REALLY suffering with SPD and other embarrassing prob <<<sob sob>>>> Elective section.

I am really really suffering now with SPD, i am wearing the support belt which is helping a little but not much, i am 34 weeks and really struggling now especially with having dd who is 2.6 yo to run round after.

I also have another very embarrassing problem in which i have seen the physio about in that i am leaking wee, and not just when i cough etc like most women do, i am having to wear pads and this is really getting me down too, it prob stems from the fact i had a 3rd degree tear when having my dd so all below is not very strong anyway.

I guess what i am wanting to know is the likely hood of them maybe doing my section a bit earlier because of these reasons? I am gonna be having it done @ 39 weeks atm, but taking this into account is the fact the baby is looking like he is going to be big anyway (growth scan showed he measuring about 6.7lbs @ 32 weeks).

So looking for advice really, what do you think?

TIA

Sorry to hear how you're suffering -I had SPD so know how awful it can be.

I'm not sure about your other problem but I know of a Mum who is having an elective CS due to SPD (her second pregnancy). She said the consultant didn't question her when she said thats what she wanted and why.

Hi pucca, I had crippling SPD with my second and he was also a whopper. It was hospitals decision for a section at 38 weeks. They said "Mrs ***. There's no way thats coming out of there !!!"
Also you have to bear in mind that a natural delivery with SPD can lead to crutches. Just what you need with 2 under three!!
Good luck XX

oh hon, BIG sympathy from here. i had SDP too and its not funny is it.

afraid i dont know enough to advise on early section or not. guess you should talk to the docs/midwives about it, see what they think.

as for the wee prob,i know it feels like your dignity is in tatters, but try to cut yourself some slack. a 3rd degree tear and spd w big baby sitting on it all now are not easy and you need to be kind to yourself right now. hope people around you are helping you a lot too. plenty of time when this is all behind you to do your pelvic floor exercises and tone up down there, coz thats all it will take i think. time and PF exercises and you'll be right as rain.

chin up eh?

Thanks for the replies, guess i just feeling fed up at moment, and i guess a week at the end isn't going to make much difference anyway even if they did the section @ 38 weeks i still have another 4 weeks left of this.

It is just one of those catch 22 type things, i should be resting at home but don't want to be iykwim plus i have dd to think about, not really getting much help at all as my parents don't live near and are away on holiday atm, and dh's parents live miles away, only see them once a month.DH is trying to help but my dd has gone all clingy lately and only wants me plus she keeps waking up atm through the night which is doing my head in lol.

my LO's got clingy just before the next arived too. they'll ease up when you have the baby and they realise youre not going to disappear on them or anything.

Hiya Pucca
I suffered severly with spd since 20weeks gestation, and now my dd is 9months, im still seeing the physio etc. Can you try to get some crutches, it can help to take some of the wieght off it.
I was lucky and was able to stay at my parents for the last 3months of preg, as I was unable to walk and look after my then 19month old ds.
Try taken some tablets, i was on them for months, and no harm was done.
I was induced at 38+3, which didnt work, and the hospital were not that happy with me having a section. But, if you are having a section anyway, cant really see why they can't bring it a week early for you.
HTH
