Another washing query I have! My Moses basket has come with a cotton lining and blanket, now do I wash the lining and blanket? Also when do you make the Moses basket up? Obviously not knowing exactly when baby will come!!

I washed it all! we set it up around 33 weeks but its covered to prevent dust :)

I wash everything.

not sure what you mean "set it up" - is it one with a frame that needs putting together?
I wouldn't worry before 8 months - if baby is early s/he will be kept in the newborn unit for a bit, so it would give you time to get stuff ready anyway.

I'd probably get it ready to look nice, but have a spare sheet and what you need in the wardrobe/bedlinen draw and would put that on fresh after baby is born

Hey sorry I should of said, I'm 39 weeks now and meant like put sheets on, and have out ready to go.....

no need for dust covers.
unless you live neer a mill or a sawdust factory! Grin

exciting! are you doing a birth-thread?

Hotmad · 11/11/2013 17:36

Hey ZingWantsGin, I'm quite new to this so I'm not sure what a birth thread is or in fact how to do it!!??
Ok so tomorrow I'm going to get it sorted I think.... It's all these little things that confuse me!

call me Zing

go to the "becoming a parent" topic, then choose "child birth" and start a thread when you think you are in labour or your waters broke etc.

It's fun. people love babies being born and will keep you company and chat to you etc.

you can just start one in "Chat"

I'm happy to answer any questions if you want, just ask me now or pm me later!

Hotmad · 11/11/2013 17:47

Brill, thanks Zing...... I will do that then.... I'm 39 weeks and I don't know hey but I get the feeling I'll be over my date and actually I don't mind! (Well not this week i don't)
I hadn't washed or done anything with Moses basket yet as I kind of worry I'm getting too ahead of myself, very odd way to think I bet!

there are no rules. do what feels best.

a friend decided to camp in their living room on a big mattress after baby was born - the rest of the house was too hot to sleep in (summer baby).

they didn't use the baby's room or any of the furniture in it for about 6 weeks! Grin
