Sad I feel your pain OP. I was told to increase my fluid & fibre intake (which I know everyone tells you to do) and I didn't really think it would make a dramatic change but my god it has helped! Honestly try and up it for a comfortable poo! Congratulations on your brilliant news though! Thanks

SeeYouNT · 11/11/2013 11:03

i drink LOADS of water already

bought some orange juice as well as heard that helps, will also try and up my fibre intake

hae not been constipated though. and the thought of going for a poo is terrifying though tbh Blush

Never mind the orange juice, try prune juice. Tastes vile but does the trick! Also Lactulose is good for softening things up and you can still take fibre supplements like Fibryogel or the ones from Holland and Barrett.

Im on 19+6 and i just got my first. Very very grumpy today, might have to go out on my lunch and get something.

Ow!

Artesia · 11/11/2013 13:12

Don't put off using the treatments- get the anusol out ASAP. I didn't, and ended up with thrombosed piles- the most painful experience I have ever had. I ended up passing out with the pain, and they didn't ease up at all until they ruptured Shock

Also, wet wipes instead of toilet roll- MUCH more comfortable.....

SeeYouNT · 11/11/2013 13:25

O M actual G artesia Shock Shock Shock

poor you Flowers

tbh i was hoping the witch hazel would work so i didnt have the mortification of buying anusol

but perhaps i ought to go and get some :(

And go straight for the behind the counter ones - no messing about! Anusol pesseries HC I think they are called they are absolutely brilliant!

Artesia · 11/11/2013 14:03

Put your shame aside and send DH out to buy the anusol ASAP, you won't regret it!

Personally, I think it is nature's way of teaching us that, once you become a parent, you have to suffer many, many indignities and have no shame....

SeeYouNT · 11/11/2013 14:11

LOL so true artesia :o

am off to shop now eek

SeeYouNT You poor thing, I had piles in pregnancy and have had them on and off since. They were so painful I couldn't stand or walk. I agree, get started on the anusol ASAP - it helps to shrink them down and the sooner you start the better. It is grim though - hope you feel better soon.

PassTheCremeEggs · 11/11/2013 15:14

Feel your pain. I got them a few days ago, three days short of due date - so hacked off! Germoloids ointment has really worked for me, they're definitely shrinking and it also has a local anaesthetic in it which I think the other creams don't? Also get preparation h wipes and use instead of loo roll.

SeeYouNT · 12/11/2013 08:05

things are slightly better this morning

but have not erm, been to the loo yet Blush so worried when i do that it will wreck the slight improvement :/

Writerwannabe83 · 12/11/2013 08:38

How can people tell they have them?? Can you feel them??

Suzietwo · 12/11/2013 09:09

oh its fucking unbearable isnt it.

i use antihistimines every night as well as the topical cream etc.

Artesia · 12/11/2013 10:18

Trust me Writer, you will know if you have them- feels like a bag of marbles hanging out of your bum!

monikar · 12/11/2013 10:31

Artesia exactly! You would know if you had them.

When mine flare up it usually is really bad for about a week and then I quite sore for another 2 weeks or so. I have bought every cream there is but I find the best treatment is sudocrem and my piles are quite bad. Other creams tend to itch more. The wipes are best to use rather than loo paper - I have used the Huggies plain wipes as they are supposed to be like water and cotton wool and I find these are best.

Pleased to hear things are a bit better today OP Smile .
