I am driving myself mental. 34+3 and I sort of feel like I am leaking down below. I mean I can feel stuff, but I made a makeshift pad out of tissue as I don't have any pads and that is only a little bit damp. I've already rang the labour ward and they said to just monitor it and if it starts soaking pads then come in.

My question is this. Does anybody else feel like they are leaking lots but in reality it is only a little bit and what do you do about it?

I'm probably just peeing myself really slowly knowing my luck Grin

I'm the same. Have been doing my exercises but still get drips. Can't seem to have a satisfyingly bladder emptying wee whatever I do.
But do what the MW says.

ladymalfoy · 10/11/2013 12:20

Whisper! Did you see the trailer! Can't wait. Sorry to hijack your thread but wanted to catch you at some point to ask.
I know I'll be hysterical when I watch it. DH is rather put out that I'm more bothered about Whos anniversary year than our P FB.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 10/11/2013 12:35

Might be discharge?

WhisperMen · 10/11/2013 12:37

Could be just a dribble, at 32 weeks with baby no5 my bladder isn't what it was, and going to the loo never completely relieves me!

The key is in the smell, smells of urine =most probably urine, smells of semen/sweet/jam=waters

WhisperMen · 10/11/2013 12:41

jam? any particular flavour jam? Grin I'm not sure I would connect the smell of jam with the smell of semen Confused

okay I have had a pad on for a while and it's damp. This means ring the midwives doesn't it? I don't want someone sticking their hand up my fanjo, I haven't done any gardening on it for a while Sad

OP posts:
pumpkinsweetie · 10/11/2013 16:10

As for gardening that's up to you lol

WhisperMen · 10/11/2013 16:38

I just rang them and they said I have to go to the hospital. sigh it's so cold and miserable out there, I am not looking forward to this walk.

How did you get on?

WhisperMen · 10/11/2013 20:49

Glad to hear you're ok. I have this. I'm 32 weeks. It's a trickling sensation and is so annoying. I don't have any clue what it is, I asked the Obs and she said that it can be pee or very heavy discharge, either way I don't care for it.

Do you mind me asking how they checked it wasn't amniotic fluid? Do they have a swab or something?

WhisperMen · 10/11/2013 21:02

they have a swab that can tell apparently. they had a rummage round and then swabbed. left it in a pot for 5 minutes and it comes up positive or negative pretty simple really.

though after the examination I am having loads of Braxton hicks Sad

MickeyTheShortOne · 10/11/2013 21:13

not wanting to panic you or anything but this happened to me when my "hind waters" broke (i didnt even know they existed Shock )... had the baby 9 hrs later!

SolitudeSometimesIs · 10/11/2013 21:20

My hind waters went aswell about 2 weeks before my due date, it was more of a gush so I was sure it wasn't just pee. They didn't swab though, they just sniffed (vom).

Maybe take it easy for the next few hours.

pumpkinsweetie · 10/11/2013 21:34

Glad to hear it wasn't your waters already op x

WhisperMen · 10/11/2013 21:35

I'm having lots of Braxton hicks and am jolly uncomfortable right now. wish I hadn't gone in now the poking and prodding has made my womb squatter angry at me haha

OP posts:
WhisperMen · 10/11/2013 21:36

what the jeff are hind waters?!

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 10/11/2013 22:02

I thought "hind waters" was a polite way to say you've wet yourself, but apparently it's a thing. My MW said it was a rupture high up in the uterus, caused by the baby moving and scratching the membrane. The membrane can reseal itself as it's not a tear or rupture, it's a tiny scratch and a bit of water pushes out.

That's why you tend to feel one gush and no more. And unless you have the underwear/pad you were wearing at the time of the gush, it's really hard to diagnose.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 10/11/2013 22:03

That was supposed to say ""the membrane can reseal itself as it's not a major tear or rupture"

BlackholesAndRevelations · 10/11/2013 22:49

In my Nct class I learnt that there are hind and fore waters! Either side of the baby perhaps?! Can't remember all details. Anyway I'm pleased it wasn't your waters, whisper; a lot if extra watery discharge isn't uncommon (if it definitely isn't wee)

BlackholesAndRevelations · 10/11/2013 22:49

I mean, infront of and behind (somehow...)

TwickyWoo · 10/11/2013 22:56

Fore waters sit in front of baby's head at the opening of your cervix. Hind waters are those behind the baby at the top of your uterus. One or both can go at different times with different sensations apparently.

I fed up with the trickles too :(
