4 weeks to go and well and truly nesting.

I actually have NO loads of washing to go through (literally unheard of in my house, previous home to Mount Unwashedclothing!)

DP helped me completely rearrange the bedroom furniture and all skirting boards, carpet stains, mirrors have all been scrubbed.

Only have the floors to finish...sadly our vaccum cleaner packed in this morning but the house is so close to being 'ready'.

Tomorrow is batch cooking day.

Only really posting this as the sense of relief I have now it's not the gross mess it previously was is tremendous. Still can't sleep a wink but my to do list is nearly all ticked off!

So has anyone else gone particularly 'nesting' mental? Grin

God I wish I had. When I had DD the place was covered in dust sheets with paint pots everywhere and the carpet half pulled up. I feel like we've never been properly clean and tidy since!!

My bathroom floor could do with a scrub now as it happens, come on over when your cooking's finished Grin

I had a sudden urge to swap bedrooms, dp insisted he would do it at the weekend but it was bugging me and I did some of it so he had to do it that night! I had the baby the next day so lucky we did!

In my last pregnancy I had the nesting urge, but I was absolutely enormous and could barely move. It was very frustrating!

When I was in labour though, I whizzed round like the Tazmanian Devil, including scrubbing the floors with bleach and a scrubbing brush at 5am.
It hasn't really kicked it during this pregnancy yet.

Shellywelly1973 · 10/11/2013 11:09

Oh god I woke up this morning & I could feel 'it'!

I nested with all but 1 of my dc but my last one was extreme. I decided to decorate thevdc bedroom but dp didn't agree so I did it at 37 weeks. No ladders just stood on the bunk beds to reach the ceiling!

I sorted a load of clothes but the cupboard they needed to go into is really awkward & it meant lifting the clothing above my head so I squeeze myself into this cupboard& get the clothes in it. 6 months later I try & get them out... seriously I could not lift the clothes out of the cupboard-the bag was so heavy. I get super strength & energy in the kast weeks of pregnancy.

The problem I now face is the family. They will drive me insane as I expect everyone to get off their lazy arses & not to dirty what I've cleaned!

I had it since yesterday,
I scrubbed the house top to bottom, iv only got the skirting boards to gloss, however iv got to wait till my 11 month old goes to bed before I can do it.
Thing is I'm only 31 weeks Blush I'm sure I'll keep busy running round after my kids!

Inglori0us · 10/11/2013 16:40

I went nesting-mental last time. I cleaned and tidied every cupboard, drawer and shelf in the house. I had never been that organised and tidy.
At 36 weeks I painted my kitchen walls, then stripped, sanded and repainted the kitchen unit doors and painted the bathroom. And I painted the internal doors. I could not stop myself.
It hasn't kicked in yet this time. I hope it does as the house is a state, and I frankly CBA to do anything about it yet as still have a fair way to go.

Mrspaddy · 10/11/2013 16:42

They day I went into labour I too ad everywhere cleaned to the point, where could I clean now?nowhere.. So I painted all my pots outside and lanterns. They look good though Grin

I've changed two rooms around pretty much single handedly this past week, our bedroom and the living room, and I'm going to do ds's tomorrow.

I'm 30 weeks

everythinghippie29 · 10/11/2013 21:53

Ahhh, the whole house smells of bleach and everything is cleeeean!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one madly cleaning the backs of cupboards! I'm very sore/stiff from it all today but it was worth it and my lovely DP has been really helpful.

Our stupid central heating has packed in though, Luckily, because my to do list has been done my stress levels have dropped a little!

Sounds like you are mere days away from.delivery!

My SIL was painting all her woodwork the day before she popped.

Sadly, the nesting urge was alien to me. I just had a nap.fetish.

everythinghippie29 · 10/11/2013 22:58

I need him to stay in for at least a week. I have my sisters wedding to go to next week!

I'm hoping that my desire to deep clean is just being ultra prepared in plenty of time.

I'm such a slob, I honestly didn't think I would be a 'nester'. It is out of character but one of the better pregnancy symptoms I guess!

Congratulations on your 5 month old! I bet it shot by. Good luck to everyone else prepping! Grin

I was too big with twins, and too hot living in the tropics, To clean. I baked. Didn't want To eat cake, but needed To bake. So much do that I walked To the shops To buy cake tins, because I didn't have any, because it was too bloody hot for baking. And I baked lot's.
