Sex - risky?

Almost at 20 weeks and we haven't DTD since I fell pregnant. Three earlier miscarriages and morning sickness so I was happier not to at first and we did alternative stuff got DH. Now I'm really really keen but not sure if its too dangerous? Really worried about the way sex induces labour....

Sex - or rather semen - only precipitates labour of you're ripe to go: look at the threads of all those who are 40+ weeks and desperate to get the baby out to see how it's not a sure thing.

Have you asked your MW or doctor if there is any medical reason to abstain in your specific circumstances?

Hi Nyborg, I'm kind of in the same situation but not due to previous miscarriages - I'm sorry to hear you have been through that and I'm glad this pregnancy is going well.

I'm 20wks+3 and me and hubby haven't DTD since I fell pregnant. Initially it due to sickness and generally feeling sh*t but then I went on to have 3 bleeds, the worst of which being a heavy fresh one requiring me to go to hospital, this was when I was 14 weeks pregnant. I was told to abstain from sex until I saw my Consultant after my 20 week scan so he can give me the 'all clear' that there is nothing dodgy on my scan that might account for my bleeds.

I had my scan last week and the Consultant sonographer doing it said everything looked fine but to discuss everything with my Obstetrician, who I'm seeing nest week. Even if he says I'm fine to resume normal sexual activity I know I will be really nervous about it....

NHS says as long as you are not bleeding then you are fine to have sex. Unless you don't want to of course.
