ELCS vs other abdo surgeries

How does the pain compare? I've had my appendix out and a laparoscopy. The csection's much much worse isn't it? Dc2 is coming out of the sunroof in April and I'm really nervous about the pain.

Iv never had any other surgery other than an emcs and as long as you take it easy and plenty of pain killers it is bearable, I was back to normal after 2 week but it can take longer from what I hear from other people.

Everyone's different but it feels very different to a laparoscopy! I had an EMCS and it was fine. I just had paracetamol and didn't have any of the other painkillers offered.

The important thing is to mobilise as soon as you can and walk tall rather than bending as you will want to. Listen to your body and take things as slow or fast as you ate comfortable with. TBH I was in far more pain with my boobs rather than my tummy!

I wouldn't say an ELCS is painful at all.

No other surgery to compare with but my ELCS wasn't painful at all. A bit sore maybe for a few days when trying to get out of bed but otherwise surprisingly good.

I've had 2 ELCS and they were both fine, paracetamol for first day and then fine, was driving etc after 10 days (signed off by GP) as marrow said boobs far more painful :)
