Did anyone think they were on the menopause and then find out that they were in fact pregnant??
How did you feel either way-if you were pregnant or if you were actually beginning the menopause?

That's great news. How old are you if you don't mind me asking? How early did you test? How did you feel when you were waiting for the test to show?
(reminds self to breathe and that I am really old)

My mum! She has PCOS and hadn't had a period for yonks although she still got symptoms every month without any actual bleed. After assuming this was the beginnings of the menopause and fed up of the symptoms she went to the doctors asking for a hysterectomy, she tested positive and found herself 5 weeks pregnant, oops! I'm currently pg with an unplanned pregnancy too so I know the shock she'd have been feeling!

This happened to my aunt over ten years ago. Had never been able to conceive, though tests showed no reason why, and her and my uncle decided that they didn't want to go through IVF or any other treatment. When she was about 42(ish) she thought she had hit the menopause, went to the dr about starting hrt and tests showed she was about 8 weeks gone. I'm pretty sure she passed out, lol! Both her and my uncle said though that while they were a lot older than normal (a baby at that age was still pretty unusual then) for them it was the best time it could have happened,my uncle was in the RAF for over 20 years but retired by the time she fell pregnant, they were well travelled, financially secure and felt they had done everything they wanted to do that they might have missed out on had my cousin been born earlier.

My periods had changed dramatically. Really heavy & cycle became irregular. I've always had very light periods & every 26/28.

This went on for about a year. I just presumed I was going into the menopause. Im 40 & my sister was 37 when she started the menopause. Mum 40 & an aunt that was only 34!

I then found out I was pregnant but lost the baby. I didn't really get back to normal afterwards so thought it was time to see my gp. Turned out I had a severe under active thyroid & was pregnant again!

I was much happier to be told im pregnant rather then in the menopause!

My mum was 36/37 at the time!
