Ds thinks we should call the baby "torture" - anybody have any better ideas for a boy's name?

I know there have been so many boys' names threads recently, but we are totally stuck. We have a name if the baby (due in 3 weeks) is a girl, but cannot agree on a name for a boy...

Anything considered...apart from "torture"

Traditional? Old fashioned? Biblical? Syllables? Letters to avoid?

Our surname starts "Mac" so avoid any Max type names! Ds has a Roman name, and dd had a name derived from a gaelic name. Both their names are very unusual - have only evr heard of a couple of people with the same names. So something a bit different. two syllables would be good. I quite like traditional names.

I love Ambrose but we already have an 'A' so we can't use it.

Ambrose Mac... sounds good.

And dh says nothing from Thomas the Tank Engine

The other problem is that we live in a very small community and once a name has been used, you don't want to use it again for very many years to avoid confusion! Which unfortunately rules out most of schneebly's list.
