Hello
Anyone got any recommendations for a warm winter coat. I'm 18 weeks now so will be quite big in jan/feb in the cold weather.
I'm trying to stick to non maternity clothes as much as poss ie buying floaty blouses in bigger sizes, taking jeans to a tailor to get a band fitted etc...but thinking a coat might need to be maternity to maintain good fitting shoulders and back but room for baby bump.
Anyone have any good ideas?
Thank you

Maybe try an empire line coat? Or even a poncho?

I bought this in Khaki from Asos (actually it's newlook but it seems to be cheaper at Asos!) and it's warm and roomy and looks fine.

It's not that glamourous but it's great for me (I don't drive so traipse about on buses and trains and need something good in bad weather - I live by the sea and you can't use an umbrella due to the wind!). You can also remove the fur trim, if not the leopard print, which makes the hood less droopy!

Otherwise there were some nice ones on ebay every now and then, but the competition was very fierce!

I bought a --second hand- vintage navy coat from an army surplus store for £20 + £25 on tailor and dry cleaning. Then had the buttons (double breasted) re sewn so the lower ones were closer together giving lots of bump room. I love it, v warm and snug and the tailor made me promise to come back after the baby was born so he could straighten the buttons out for me!

Sorry second hand was meant to crossed out... Trying again second hand

Tu at Sainsbury's have a cloak style one (like poncho, but with arms slightly separated) in camel or navy wool. About £40 full price. I have the camel one and will be able to use it with the baby in a sling underneath come Jan as well.

I have just bought a navy swing maternity coat from jojo maman bebe, was £65, but after checking out eBay I know I will be able to resell it.
