Working out conception date

Hi :)

I'm trying to work out my conception date, the problem is I have really irregular periods and a terrible memory! I think my lnp was the last week in September, and I have taken a clear blue test which shows that I am 1-2 weeks pregnant, 3-4 technically.

My doctors have booked me in at the end of the month to speak with them, but I'm trying to work out possible conception dates, can anybody help?

I wouldn't worry too much. They may send you for a dating scan but going by the last week of September that doesn't sound too far out - worst case scenario you'll be scanned a week or two ahead of your actual dates and they'll adjust it then. Congratulations!

Ah thank you. I was getting a bit panic-y the receptionist wasn't too impressed on the phone when I couldn't give a LNP!

I wouldn't bother too much either. I agree, last week of September sounds about right. Dating scans are accurate. In the early days, foetal development is mainly uniform. Conception on the other hand isn't an accurate science. You can ovulate pretty much anywhere in your cycle, sperm can live up to a week, implantation can take some time. Its why, early on they use your LMP date, not the date you actually DTD.
Wait for the scan, and don't forget, 36 weeks+ is technically full term, so EDD is only a guideline as well.
