When do bumps start to show?!

Hi all,

We are planning to ttc dc1 in the new year. My only thought is that if we are lucky enough to succeed soon into trying, I could potentially be 12 weeks pregnant when I'm due to be a bridesmaid! Can anyone please give me details of how likely it is that a bump will be evident by then?! I appreciate everyone is different and you can never know for definite, but I'm just wondering when people start to show just as a general rule ..... If people could kindly share their experience that would be great!! If it makes any difference, I'm normally a size 12 and have never ever had a flat tum anyway!! ??

Even if you do get a little bump dressmakers can do wonderful things last minute to alter dresses. When mine and my sister's best friend got married, my sister was 7 months pregnant and her dress alterations weren't done until the day before the Wedding because they wanted to make sure it would be comfy for the exact size she was. I got married earlier this year and one of my bridesmaids was 6 months pregnant, the dress makers did wonders with her bridesmaid dress. Pregnant bridesmaids look brilliant...so blooming and beautiful Smile

Hey hun congrats!

I'm 10 weeks and showing a bump now!! Which i find really early. I have bloated out before but bump showing lower down which wasnt there last week... So i think it really depends, my friend didn't show for 6 months!! Lucky her, i have a friend whos 13 weeks just now and looks much further on with the size of her bump...

Hope this helps Smile

I haven't had anything to show at all (boobs are bigger) until this week when i have suddenly popped out. I'm 23 1/2 weeks with my first.

I wasn't showing at all at 12w with my first - in fact had lost 4kg due to bad ms. Didn't get a proper bump til 26 weeks or so. My breasts were bigger though.

This time lost even more in first tri (8kg) and bump has only started to appear in the last week or so (now 21 weeks).

(I'm not huge normally - 5ft 5 & a size 10-12)

I'm tall and skinny so I was hoping the baby could stretch out so I wouldn't get a huge bump. I'm now 15 weeks and whilst I can still easily hide my growing tummy with baggy tops and fit into my normal jeans, in a tight top there is no denying that my belly is no longer in proportion with the rest of me! There's a definite bump forming (particularly if I don't use my stomach muscles to hold it in!) and I've also developed quite a spare tire of fat!

At 12 weeks though it's easy to hide, but you might not be comfortable in a dress that is really fitted in your midsection.

I didn't show at all til 23 weeks. I'm 5'6 and size 10, I'm quite long in the torso and (had!) pretty strong abdominals.

I also never ever got the promised big boobs of pregnancy. :( I just got acne instead. Cheers, DS...

I had a small bump at 12 weeks but others couldnt tell. I had actually lost weight though at that stage due to sickness.
