And good luck OP! Smile

good luck, certainly sounds like early labour. most important thing is to listen to your body, get as much rest as possible, have a bath before you go to bed tonight and try to have a poo if you can, don't worry about this though. Keep your mobile charged and make sure there is petrol in the car.

Thank you lastnight. Midwife said if I feel constipated they can check and give me a pessary? She said it's not very pleasant though. I'll have a read about an impacted bowel.

Fakebook · 05/11/2013 19:09

Good luck! It does sound like the start of labour. Keep nibbling on food and drinking water. I found bouncing on the gym ball helped alleviate some of the pain and bought the baby down quicker when I was pregnant with dc2.

I'm 39+4 and having similar pains since this morning.
Hopefully today/tonight is the day/night for me too!

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 05/11/2013 19:12

HMT I had a pessary and it was the most pleasant thing I've ever experienced based on the fact I had bowel pain so bad I couldn't feel contractions (and had no pain relief). The pessary doesn't hurt one bit and just clears you out. I'm having one this time (currently 29 weeks pregnant) - honestly nothing to worry about and so much better than an impacted bowel :)

HMT13 · 05/11/2013 19:21

Oh that's put my mind at rest. Definitely going to ask to be checked either way Smile thanks!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 05/11/2013 19:25

I think that these not so regular type aches and pains can go on for a while. Pre labour?
I hope you get your wish and that he is with you soon. Like others have said, lots of rest. and think push

BummyMummy77 · 05/11/2013 19:57

Just spoke to my midwife about it who said the body is getting ready. Still doesn't mean anything could happen anytime soon. Pah.

laura20 · 05/11/2013 20:59

Pain started to get worse every 5 mins apart an nowthey have eased again and are apart every 20 mins apart.

How you feeling now?

laura20 · 05/11/2013 23:45

My pains are 5 mins apart lasting 40-50 seconds but not severe called the hospital and they said wait until I'm down to 3 mins and they are lasting over a minute

Heyy! Sounds like things are getting going. Paracetamol, sleep and keep eating regularly. Could be a long haul ahead of you so do look after yourself and try and keep your energy levels topped up. Good luck!

Thinking of you!

laura20 · 06/11/2013 20:46

Still no baby had pains until about 4 then fell asleep. Had a sweep today and pains came every 6 mins apart now they vary between 17 and 4 apart think I've got one very stubborn boy!

I'm 40+4 on my first baby, and I've been getting these cramps/period pains for the past few days, some can be the painful and some not so bad, but I dont know what it is? Or if I should be worried, my baby's movements are perfectly fine
