Urination patterns....

Hello everyone, just wondering how your pattern of weeing is during your pregnancy Grin

When I was first pregnant I was going all the time but this then returned back to normal frequency until about last week. I find now that I hardly ever go the toilet during the main period of the day but then my bladder goes mental in the evening and overnight?!

For example, I had a wee this morning when I woke up about 8am but nothing since, despite having had 3 cups of tea, some squash and milk on my cereal. This is how it has been for about a week but then, come about 5pm I do a complete U-Turn and seem to need a wee at least once every 2 hours! And about an hour after I go I start to get the sensation of needing to go again. So this carries on all evening until I go to bed and then I normally wake a few times in the night too.

It isn't cystitis though as I feel perfectly well, there is no pain on urinating, each time I go it is a good volume (not just drops) and urine is clear and healthy looking.

It is driving me mad!! I'm hoping it is just another phase!! Smile

Funnily enough I was thinking of posting about this very same thing! I was never off the loo during the first couple of months but it all seemed to settle down. Then 3 or 4 weeks ago it all went mad and I'm forever in the bathroom again. Like you though Wannabe it's concentrated at night. I'm in and out the loo all evening and then once I'm in bed I'll get out 2 or 3 times before I settle to sleep, then 3 times during the night regular as clockwork!

I'm 26 weeks so I'm guessing it'll only get worse! Least my bowels are ok! Grin Probably spoke too soon...

I'm definitely worse at night but this is because your body processes urine better when you are lying down so it's unfortunately more likely that you'll need to get up during the night. It drives me mad also.

Another no-day-pee-er/all night pee-er here.
I might only go once/maybe twice during the day, then at night- 5/6 times?? it must be like delphi says, your body processes it all so quickly when you're asleep/motionless. Tonight i am not having any more fluids after 8pm to see if that helps... although the problem is i get very thirsty at night. DOH!!!!!!!!!!!
i hear that from week 35 on it's completely crazy, peeing every hour or more.... something to look fwd to haha

Wow, I can't believe how common it is!! Grin

Baby also comes alive in the evening/night time so I did wonder if maybe him wriggling around near my bladder is making things worse too....

Same here! My little pip likes to begin his full river dance/kick boxing routine at midnight. He starts again at 5am and keeps going until about half past 8. He hardly moves then all day. He's probably knackered!

Every two hours like clockwork, all day and all night Envy

DaleyBump · 04/11/2013 16:26

Sorry, I'm 36+2. Had enough now, thanks!

24 weeks and pretty normal again for the last 2-3 weeks. I go maybe once a night, and I'm very well hydrated.
