40+4 days, should I get a sweep?

I'm currently 40 weeks 4 days pregnant, any advise on getting a membrane sweep?

When are you next seeing your MW? You could ask her to give you an internal examination and, if your cervix seems favourable, then to do the sweep. If your cervix is nowhere near ready then I doubt that a sweep would help. Have a chat with your MW about it and see what she suggests?

She said she will do a home visit any day I want the sweep.
