Fresh blood day 5, stitches?

Hi all,

I'm not sure what the best section is for post natal questions.....

I'm day 5 post episiotomy and have just had some bright red blood that looks like it's coming from my stitches. I'm hoping this doesn't mean I've popped any stitches.... Does anyone have any experience of this?

It could just be where its healing and you have strained slightly, splitting the fresh wound iykwim. Its probably nothing to worry about but i would ask midwife or gp to have a look and check for you as you dont want an infection.

Thanks Craving, it has felt a bit 'snaggy' today which I took as a sign of healing. Seeing midwife tomorrow so I'll give her the pleasure of having a look!!
