Long soak in a hot (not scalding) bath, sleep with pillow between your knees, and a hot water bottle on your back if its still sore. And make your DH give you plenty of back massages Grin

I'm 8 weeks and mine's been painful on and off for a couple of weeks. I use a hot water bottle, and the hospital gave me codeine.

I really feel your pain. I have an existing back condition which worsened at 10 weeks pregnant (I'm almost 37 now). I already saw a Cranial Osteopath regularly so I've been seeing her throughout my pregnancy more regularly and it has really helped to the point where I've actually been a lot better the last few weeks than I was at the start, even though I'm obviously a lot heavier now. It's a really gentle treatment, unlike the traditional osteopathy. It is expensive, but I figure it's worth it for your mobility and sanity.

The other options you can use in the meantime/in conjunction are alternate cold and hot packs every 20 mins, warm bath or shower, paracetamol or co-codamol (although speak to your GP/midwife first) or ask to see your maternity physio, although personally I didn't find it helped at all (although I think it's mainly because my condition wasn't caused by pregnancy). Gentle exercise such as walking, but don't spend too long on your feet, try to alternate different activities - walking, lying down etc. Someone else mentioned sleeping with a pillow between your knees which is great as anything that keeps your spine, hips, pelvis in line is ideal.

Good luck and hope you feel better soon.x

I already have a body pillow because I've had problems with my hip for years and that's not helping my back atm. Unfortunately I work in a kids hospital so all I seem to do is spend time on my feet and running around so taking it easy isn't really an option lol. Definitely gonna look into that tiny, if it can help it'll be worth every penny. Gonna invest in a hot water bottle as well. Thanks guys Thanks
