how long did a sweep take to work for you if it did?

so as some of you know i had a sweep yesterday lunchtime had blood come away but sadly nothings happened guess its failed feeling pretty certain its not worked and now wont be given another untill monday 4th november which makes me overdue currently 39+5 today

Had one on Monday at 11am and got first contraction at 18.10. Was 40+4 with dc2. Feeding her greedy little self right now. Hold on in there ladies, so soon!

I had a sweep on Tuesday at 40 weeks (after 2 previous failed attempts at 37+6 and 39 weeks, VBAC so started sweeps earlier than usual). Straight after sweep DH and I went shopping, walking round local centre a few times. Felt all crampy etc.

Tues evening, had painful tightenings which eventually petered out.

Wed 15.45 hind waters went and shortly after erratic contractions started. DS2 arrived yesterday (Thursday) morning!

Hope all your babies turn up soon, waiting is so hard xxx

morning everyone sadly i am still pregnant so guess it has now failed totally gutted wont be seeing the midwife now till i am overdue i hope you due ladies have more luck then me and your babies show soon x

Waters went at 3am. At hospital by 4am. Given sweep straight away. Another one 2/3 hours later. Plug started to go. Another one 2/3 hours later. Light contractions. The hardcore midwife started her shift and they brought her in to give me a final one. Oh my god. I knew it would work as she was doing it. I could feel EVERYTHING. It was weird and painful (but not unbearable). Contractions really ramped up after that. DD wasn't born for ages after that though!

I know!!! I'm at that stage where I'm just thinking - oh flipping well stay in there as long as you like and I Will just carry on as normal until you decide to make an appearance!

it really does suck dont it Freckles im trying to keep myself busy but get tired quickly esp with my nearly 2 year old sighs today ive been wrapping her pressies up its 15 days to go untill shes 2 so now november is going to be a busy month for me ! x

I just had midwife appt expecting a sweep at 40+3 and she wouldn't give me one! Not until 41 weeks. I'm 41 weeks Tuesday when I have my induction appt!
I'm really pissed ande just want to cry!!!!

I'm exhausted with it all really!

oh no Freckles no way why not your already overdue as it is bless you freckles i know how you feel hun its exhausting alright i really hope your baby gets a wiggle on for you very soon

ooh good luck princess! my plugs been slowly going and im being induced in the morning. so hopefully one of us will have our bubby soon x

morning ladies apart from strong braxtons all night they have no slowed and still nothing i couldnt be any more deflated my midwife wont even do anything else until wednesday and today is my due date totally like arghh good luck honey x

aww sorry princess. guess the braxtons are also a gd sign. I'm sending dh out to get me pinapple this pm. wanted to get out for a good walk but feeling exhausted. I've got induction appt Tuesday .
so demoralising I know!
I don't know if I've been losing my plug or if its discharge as no pink or blood in it.

good idea with the pinapple hopefully itl help you this is my 3rd baby my last 2 went overdue so i guess i should have expected it again just hope its not to far over :/ lets hope your baby decides to show before induction it seems babies are being soo stubborn lately with my 2nd daughter i had lots of clear mucus in the morning and then same with blood in the evening so its def sounds like it is your plug i reckon your lil babba will be born before tuesday x

this pm I ate a box of pinapple. Had lamb curry for dinner and a cup of raspberry leaf tea.
Just had a hot bath too!

Hi Princess and Freckles. It definitely sounds like things are moving for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I'm due today with DC3 too. I went 2 weeks overdue with my other 2 so I'm not expecting to go into labour anytime soon.

i think their right number 3 has def been different lol Freckles yep this is a boy aswell my first boy after 2 girls lets hope one of those things you did gets your little man moving i tried a really hot indian takeaway last night which resulted in strong braxtons all night but not regular tuts haha i hope we both have some good news to share very soon x
