Hello all,

My waters went this morning at 1.30 after a sweep on Sunday.

I went into the hospital for waters and baby to be checked, been at home since about 4am, contracting every 6-7 mins with each one lasting just over a minute. I'm having to breathe through them and am only comfortable on my knees (my poor knees!).

Fingers crossed it continues!!

Thanks all, contractions perhaps every 4-5 mins now and fairly strong, 1 and a half minutes long. At their height, i can feel some pressure, birth centre don't seem to be concerned, they said stay at home until I want to contact them again. Just going to try the tens machine and see if it helps.

Get in a bath of just warm water (no soap etc as infection risk) I did this in hospital after having waters manually broken and helped the pain in the early stages.

I'm a first timer...You had about 18 hours of contractions! Is that normal?? OMG.... . .

Lostinspace1 · 04/11/2013 15:36

Congrats by the way!!

Scraggyspanner · 05/11/2013 19:15

Thanks all.

Lostinspace, it's all a distant memory already! In fact, despite ending in an episiotomy and forceps after starting with serenity in a birth pool with gas and air as baby was not coming down in a good position, I have quite a lot of fond memories of how the labour went!!

You'll be fine.
