I'm 16 weeks (tomorrow) and weighed myself for the first time in months. I have put on almost a stone already. I know I've got in the habit of snacking too much. It starts because I feel light headed if I don't eat but now I think I'm eating too much.
It took me 18 months to lose the weight after ds and dd and I so don't want to have to do that again. Also, if it was hard to lose the weight when I was 25 I can't imagine it'll be any easier at 32...
Anyone else have any anxiety about this or should I just relax.

I'm worried as well cupcakes. Can I just say, your name doesn't help matters..everytime I read your posts i WANT A CUPCAKE..GRRR..!!!!

With dd I put on around 2-2.5 stones and had 1 stone left to lose when I fell pregnant again (currently 10 weeks). I'm still at the sickness stage so food makes me feel sick BUT if I don't eat I know I WILL be sick..! Vicious circle.
Although I don't seem to have put on "too much" now I can feel my body going "rounded" which feels horrible but it's all for a good reason.

TBH I really wouldn't worry as the more worry the more you will stress you and baby out. I would be aware of what you are eating and aim to eat fruit and veg although I know how hard it is. Try not to eat something "just because i'm pregnant" but still allow yourself treats etc. after all you deserve treats and I presume you have given up alcohol drinking etc..!!! Thats my excuse anyway!!

BTW i'm 27 and I also found it hard to loose weight from dd.

I told myself I was going to eat three good meals a day but I ahd to have a snack at 11 (2 pieces of granary toast with marmite) as I was feeling lightheaded. That I can understand but it's the grazing through the evening and the chocolate that I'm treating myself with that I know is the problem...

i put on 3.5 stone and 3 stone respectively with both dss. Took 18months to loss with ds1 and 1.5 stones to go with ds2 though he is only 4 months so doing better. I had only put on 4 pounds up to 16 weeks with ds1 then put on a stone from 16 -22. I dont think you need worry. Also you are aware of the problem this time round and probably will loss more quicker due to having other children

you may also put weight on at different rates and stages. I put on more initially, then not much in the middle and then more at the end.

I am 7 weeks pg with no.2 and feeling v blobby but I guess that's just par for the course!?

I think the guidelines are between 2 and 2.5 stones. However, I put 4.5 stones with dd1 and just under 4 stones with dd2. I put on loads of water and tbh did scoff abit!

I had got back down to 1/2 a stone under my prepregnancy weight when I got pregnant with dd2 (dd1 was 7 months). Dd2 is 21 weeks and I need to shift another 1/2 a stone to get back to prepregnancy weight - but am finding it hard this time - and I'm old at 39.

Guidelines that my hospital sent are 5 lbs up to 20 weeks, then 1 lb per week after that, totalling just under 2 stone.

Obviously if you are underweight beforehand then you can afford to gain a bit more, and if you are overweight then should aim to gain a bit less.

I have read of the 1-2-3 way of weight gain which depends on how heavy you are to start with

e.g.

If you are overweight to start with aim to only put on 1 stone during pregnancy

If you are of average weight you should put on around 2 stone

If you are underweight aim for 3 stone.

Here is a link that explains it in more detail than I just have:

I hope that my weight gain slows down a bit now like teabags.
