Anyone recommend any brand? I bought h&m ones yesterday - wearing them today but v disappointed. Bagging round the ankles a bit and the bump part keeps sliding down halfway down my bump so you can see that silly ridge under my dress ... Disappointed as thought I was treating myself to comfy tights for all my winter dresses... Might as well wear normal ones under the bump

I've got the h&m 100 denier ones and I love them! Try ordinary primark tights, if I was shorter they'd be serving me well!

Stevie77 · 24/10/2013 11:49

M&S does some but only in 40 denier, what use is that in winter?!?

I saw the H&M ones but since there was no size chart on the pack I didn't fancy chancing my luck.

Sorry I'm no help, I've no idea what to do about it myself...

greentshirt do you mean Primark do maternity ones? Am going to be near one tomorrow so could pop in.

greentshirt · 24/10/2013 11:54

No they don't do maternity ones but I find them really roomy and stretchy. I'm tall though so it didn't take much before there wasn't enough space.

I tried the m&s ones last week and they are ok for 40 denier, seemed like more! Worth a try

NomDeClavier · 24/10/2013 12:08

I have some from mothercare which are okay. I so have H&M as well but only slightly more interesting than plain black so I don't know whether that affects it!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 24/10/2013 12:08

Boots maternity ones (online only, at least near me) are worth a go. Quite good, so far.

Stevie77 · 24/10/2013 12:29

I used to use the Primark ones, when I worked near one and do remember them being stretchy (and shiny!).

I'll have a look tomorrow and give it a go, not much bump yet at nearly 19 weeks so normal size might last me a good while Grin

I recently bought some from Jo Jo Maman Bebe after trying h&m, mothercare etc. They are 100 denier and called support tights, but don't feel tight and constricting like normal support tights iykwim. I think they were £8 or two for £15. Really comfy and stay up well. Also fine after a few washes. Just don't go for their Emma Jane range though which are crap!

omri · 24/10/2013 14:03

Thanks all- will try few mentioned here and hope for better results

I used to just buy a bigger size so I had more room around the bump, and then folded the excess under my feet so they didn't get wrinkly. But then I am a midget anyway, so have to fold some of most brands of tights under my feet!

louloubellamozzarella · 24/10/2013 15:59

ASOS own brand are good - think they do 50 and 60 denier now. £8. Nice and soft, opaque but not too thick and they have a bobbly platic band at the top which holds them up. I also found the H&M ones rubbish - kept falling down - annoying!

Littlemissexpecting · 24/10/2013 16:02

I tried loads as need to wear tights for work. Best I found were debenhams, they did two types and both very good. I preferred the thicker of the two so went back and bought more. They were available both online and instore.

TakingTheStairs · 24/10/2013 16:09

The only ones I have found that stay up are the spanx ones. They are super supportive and aren't tight and scary like I thought they would be.
Unfortunately, they are £26 a pair!!!

M&S and ASOS ones were shit and kept falling down, really embarrassing to have to hold the front of your tights by the waistband through your clothes to be able to walk.

I'm going to try the jojo Maman bebe ones as per comfyonsie2's post. Thanks for the recommendation.

MrsHoratioNelson · 24/10/2013 16:19

Don't bother OP, get hold ups instead. The maternity tights fitted me for about 3 minutes.

luxemburgerli · 24/10/2013 16:23

I got some today from C&A, not sure if they are any good, will update when I've tried them!

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 24/10/2013 16:26

Have you tried this site? It's got a good selection of maternity tights in various deniers. my tights

Mim78 · 24/10/2013 17:51

I have found some good ones in Debenhams.

I used hold ups in first pregnancy (from M & S) but they didn't hold up!

Inglori0us · 24/10/2013 18:34

I also like the JoJo Maman Bebe tights but I've mostly abandoned tights in favour of leggings as I always wear boots. Red Herring (Debenhams) leggings are great.

PastaBeeandCheese · 24/10/2013 19:13

All I can say is YY to not buying Emma Jayne. They were appalling and at £8 a pair I expected better than them falling down at Heathrow airport on my way to a work meeting Hmm

Shruggy · 24/10/2013 20:51

I am wearing TopShop's maternity tights - order them online as not seen in shops. They're £10 a pair and very comfy and warm for these cold days ahead.
