Small bump at 24 weeks....reassurance needed

I know it's probably me just panicking but I will be 24 weeks pg on Thursday and as if yet don't have a bump that any one would notice. This is my second child and I'm definately alot smaller this time than last and at 20 weeks scan got told this baby may be smaller due to growth restrictions and may have to be delivered early. My next scan isn't until 7th of November and just feel the 6 week wait in between is so long when there are so many unknowns. I'm just basically looking for some reassurance that there are people who have been in this same position and what your outcomes were? :) xXx

Sorry I've not got much in the way of reassurance to offer you as I've just found out I'm in the same boat and Dr Google has been less than positive.

I was scanned yesterday at 27+4 and my baby was measuring really small. They showed me their hospital protocol which said to rescan after 4 weeks if baby measured less than 10th centile and every 2 weeks if baby was in the 5th centile or less. But generally it seemed that they wouldn't intervene until the baby was over 30 weeks anyway so maybe that is why they have asked you to wait longer.

The waiting and not knowing is really hard!

Do you have any other risk factors? Did they run any other blood tests for you to check things like your clotting to see if you needed aspirin/clexane etc?

Hi, I know it's so difficult not to worry about everything, even when it is no 2! I had a tiny bump right through with my DD, nobody even guessed I was pg until I announced it at 24 weeks! DD measured 23rd percentile on 20 w scan, but was 9lb born, so they just grow on their own schedule Smile

Are you taking enough time for yourself to rest and eat well? I know it's so much more difficult the second time around, but still the most important thing you can do is to look after yourself properly!

FX for your next scan, hoping all will be fine Smile I know lots of people panic if bubs is only measuring on 10th percentile etc, but try to remember it's still within the normal range, just on the smaller end!

Yeah as far as I'm aware they won't deliver before 30 weeks so still a little while yet. They've told me I'm at high risk of preeclampsia due to the restricted blood flow to the placenta so just to watch for any symptoms. They've not done any tests so far tho as they said they had to wait till 26 weeks and at that scan appointment I'll see the consultant aswell to get more information. You just can't help but worry though.

I am managing to eat plenty but not must resting I'm afraid. My partner works away for 16 days out of 3 weeks, I work full time on my feet all day and have a 3 year old so not much rest atall which I did worry about incase it was having an impact but my midwife doesn't seem too worried about it.

Do you know when your getting your next scan betty ?
And it's reassuring to hear your story eggs big babies can hide I guess!! Haha xXx

I was still in my skinny jeans until about 25 weeks with no bump at all, im now 33 weeks and have a 'bump' but nothing like most 33 weekers have, its just a bit stuck out. i think every pregnancy must be different.

I had a scan at 30 weeks and baby is measuring perfectly, so hopefully same for you and your just not showing much
