Hi all,

ive had general soreness/general aches in rhis area today punctuated by what i can only describe as very painful twinges. theyre v brief but have been fairly frequent.

im 28 wks today and had just ignored them as yet more stretching pains but am starting to wonder.

had GTT test this morning and have then been snacking all day (& eating far too much sugar) in case thats relevant.

just need someone tell me im just being a hypochondriac clueless first timer and this is normal?

Pains at the bottom of your bump?

I've got no suggestions, I'm afraid. Except that you'd do well to ring your MW and let them know so they can reassure/advise.

Hopefully someone will be along with more useful info in a mo.

Oh, and you won't be 'bothering' the MW, it's what they are for!

I'm 35 weeks tommorow and been having similar off and on for weeks now. I've pretty much just put it down to stretching pains, but if you're at all worried I would get it checked out. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.x

I've been having the same on and off for weeks too (31weeks now) and put it down to growing. My bump is so tight and stretched all of the time :(

If you're worried though (as only you know what it feels like) then speak to the MW :)

Possibly ligaments stretching?? Probably worth getting the midwife's opinion, but could just be stretching pains...

Xmasbaby11 · 22/10/2013 21:24

I've had this. I think it's stretching pains. At the weekend they were quite bad (could not stand up straight) so the midwife advised me to come in. Apparently if there's a problem, you get a urinary infection, but she wanted to rule out SPD.

I'd definitely call your midwife and have a chat to reassure yourself.

thanks all. ive decided having left it most of today to wait and see what tomorrow brings. it probably is just stretching/ligament pains. it has been better the last few hours so keeping my fingers crossed it disappears overnight.

its just hard to know how paranoid to be!

OP I had these pains at weekend & yesterday all day, I'm 21 wks. I drank lots of water, took a long beach walk today and the pains have gone It's stretching - the bump has to grow somewhere. But ask your midwife too.

Sounds like round ligament pain.
