When did you have your first midwife appt?

I registered my pregnancy with the doctors surgery last week but still haven't heard anything from the midwife. Just wondering if this is normal and at what point they usually get in touch?

Usually around 8-10 weeks for the first appointment. Double check that they contact you, rather than you making an appointment with the midwives directly though.

Booking in appointment at 8 weeks. I had to make the appointment myself though, so double check with your GP as to what the procedure is in your area.

Mine is today.... I'm 7+2!

However my doctor think I'm more like 8+3 based on my LMP ..... but I know when I ovulated and conceived! Grin

My booking in was at 12+5 (actually after my scan), and didn't get my blood tests until 13. Don't think it caused any problems, so don't worry if yours is later than 8-10, but worth chasing them for a booking as they do get busy!

I had my first booking in appt quite early at 6 weeks, more due to the midwife's availability than anything else, and then apart from the scan didnt see anyone again until 16 weeks.

Thank you everyone. The receptionist didn't write my name down properly so it's a good job I rang again. I'm booked in for next Tuesday now :)
