Just that really I'm still very early days but that horrid just about to throw up feeling has really started . I'm drinking ginger tea not much help.
Even got ginger biscuits but while they make it better for a minute or two I just have gross fatty yuk taste in my mouth.

And I keep burping and it's really uncomfortable.
Oh and have pregnancy diarrhea which is freaking horrible.

Yukky yukky me.

All is possibly made worse by the fact I'm writing an essay on ultrasounds.
Only my partner knows at the moment so don't have anywhere to whinge properly. Ok right time to snap out of the wallow.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Thanks

I'm in the same boat as no one but partner and best friend (who lives miles away!) know and I can't complain to people or have it as an excuse for less than perfect attention span at work! Feeling ill most of the day and really unsure about what I want to eat, but eating does make me feel better when I decide what I want! Ate the "wrong" thing and threw up the other morning (my previous favourite breakfast of potato cakes, won't touch them now!) now just eating lots of cereal, potatoes, bread, soup etc... It doesn't matter too much as long as you drink plenty of water!

I have really bloated up and have quite a gassy stomach too

Yes, it's uncomfortable, frustrating, nasty and bleurgh. But fingers crossed I have been told it doesn't go on forever! I'm living for the second trimester glow and energy!! Yes please!

Hope all goes well, have you joined a group on the Ante-natal clubs section? There are already groups for those due in May and June Smile

xxx

It's horrible. We can all sympathise. It won't last forever, I promise!

In the meantime, look after yourself. Try sherbet lemons to make your mouth feel nicer. And congratulations Flowers

hazchem · 22/10/2013 08:35

Thank you both.

Moobaloo Oh that's crappy about your favorite breakfast. Last time round I didn't ever actually throw up it's just the constant threat of it. I think last time I used frozen fruit so might get some of that in again.

TobyLerone thanks for the lemon sherbet tip.

Yuck its so horrid isn't it especially when you're having to put a brave face on it as no-one knows. I found small, hard mints helped massively with the burping/gas/nausea.

hemmed1980 · 22/10/2013 10:33

Total sympathies, my dear. I'm also feeling like poop the whole time

sexysusan · 22/10/2013 14:28

total sympathies. I kept hearing its will go away too.

I felt sick in the mornings and any time I was hungry.

I tried ginger biscuits but as you say that's temporary, my sis said chomp on ice, sounded yuck but I had ice cold water which seemed to help.

The sickness has nearly dissipated towards the end of the first trimester only now pops up when it wants to surprise me.

MrsPatMustard · 22/10/2013 14:52

God the gas thing is vile, isn't it? I was burping and farting like a dairy cow.

Have you tried probiotic tablets? I bought some from Holland and Barratt and within 3 days my digestive system had settled right down. Really helped.

Inglori0us · 22/10/2013 14:54

It's manky. I'm still suffering at 16 weeks. It's bleak.

I'm eating sweets too. Anything sour seems to help a bit (hello cola bottles!), as does cloudy lemonade. All you can do is try to get through it and hope it doesn't last. Eat what you fancy, when you fancy and drink lots of squash!
Hope you feel better soon.

Snobble · 22/10/2013 15:04

You have my full sympathy, i had full blown hyperemesis from week 4-13 and it was awful. Ended up having 2 months off work and i lost 18lb.

I would love to tell you there are miracle cures but there aren't. I tried everything every expert had to offer. I was a perscription tablets, sea bands, ginger tablets... the lot & nothing helped. You might be luckier however with the sickness tablets, might be worth asking your GP.

Fingers crossed its wears off soon!!

My god given food (i ate little of, but hey! its food) chicken fried rice lol.

I feel your pain. I had hideous sickness from 6wks. But, notice I said had?! I'm nearly 16wks now and it finally seems to be easing off Grin

I was ready to lamp the next person who said it'll go soon though! Nothing really helped me, I was on anti emetics for couple wks but they made me very spaced out. I also now have a psychological aversion to dry crackers now as they remind me of feeling so nauseous!

It's horrible and so hard when nobody knows yet. I was a bit free and easy with telling people due to feeling awful but it's my second so I'm more relaxed about most things this time round :) congratulations, and do what you need to get through this.

hazchem · 23/10/2013 05:19

Feel much better for whinging. Took a bag of trail mix type stuff out with me today and that helped. Also finding cool water not cold is good. That and the yummy ginger beer flavored squash OH got.

We also went to see one of the places I might give birth really happy with it so that has perked me up.

Popcorn helps, too. I used to make big batches of it, with marmite. The saltiness eased the nausea for a while.

womma · 23/10/2013 08:44

It's bloody rotten isn't it? I'm 16 weeks and not having a good time of it at all. I'm also chronically constipated and have piles, so it's a laugh a minute. Do you feel like you've been given someone else's body and it doesn't work properly?

Jessica1992 · 23/10/2013 09:27

I'm now 32+3 and still having morning sickness majority of days.. Nothing worked for me..

Waitinggame8 · 06/11/2013 13:06

It's so nice to know I'm not alone in the burping, farting, queasiness market. MrsPatMustard, your comment about dairy cow made me laugh out loud, I know exactly what you mean!

Off work the last 3 days as my stomach has been agony with bloating and blocking, actually got excited when I was finally able to go to the toilet! Sorry if that's tmi.
Think I have just accepted that I eat what I want when I feel like it and avoid that which makes me retch, typical that it is very little as I used to eat virtually anything. Also was never a snacker, 3 meals a day only, so I am finding that awkward to get used to.

I am just living each day as it comes because everything is so different. Currently 8 weeks so still a while to go, no doubt it will get worse before it gets better. The joys of being preggers I guess, but it will be worth it when the long awaited little one eventually gets here.
Good luck to everyone.

ohcluttergotme · 06/11/2013 13:37

Congrats Waitinggame. It's horrible isn't it.
I'm 8 weeks and feel so sick all the time and anything I manage wreaks havoc with my digestive system yet I'm so constipated, oh the joys!!
I'm loving the thought of lemon sherbit sweets, need to get me some of them! Smile

Waitinggame8 · 06/11/2013 14:18

Ohcluttergotme it's great eh? I see on the June baby thread that your MW appointment is tomorrow. I'm in Edinburgh too so will be nice to compare notes, my appointment isn't until next Wednesday.
Think I may try the lemon sherbets too, don't think I've had them since I was at school, many moons ago!

ohcluttergotme · 06/11/2013 14:28

From reading the June thread I think Edinburgh seems quite good and organised at the midwifery part, all Scottish mums seem to get booking in appointment at 8 weeks and scan at 12 and letters sent out well in advance. The ones down in England seem to have to wait a long time then sometimes get both on the same day.
Is this your 1st baby?
What course are you doing that your writing about ultrasounds? Seems very apt for where you are in your life Smile
