Im only 33 weeks so far and its my 1st baby so I dont know if its too early to start packing a hospital bag? Im planning a home birth but I know you have to have one ready in case you need to be transferred. When did everyone start packing theirs?

With DS I packed at 38 weeks.

DD1 I went o the labour ward at 33 weeks with bleeding, turned up with my notes and a book, expecting to be checked and sent home Halloween Confused, DH had to pack for me (and didn't put in any knickers as they weren't on the list Blush ) I went home 2 days later, immediately re packed the bag and was re admitted within 24 hours!

With DD2, as soon as I was diagnosed with Placenta Praevia at 21 weeks I asked my bag, needed it at 24 weeks, 26 weeks, 31 weeks.........

Had an EMCS at 36 weeks (a week before my elcs was booked) and DH had to buy clothes at Tesco for DD2 as the stuff was still being washed in my absence........

Southernbelle, it really is worth having a small bag ready for just in case. Also, as Tinkerbelle mentioned on another thread, be prepared to call an ambulance. I was told if there was more than a teaspoon of blood, 999 (not that I did Blush ) in fact, the first admission with DD1 I drove myself to hospital while DH was necking Redbull to try to sober up after an indulgent dinner I got told off for that!
