I am 11 weeks and really could do with coffee this morning but can't remember from last pregnancy if I should be avoiding it? Anyone know?

My midwife told me i can have 2 cups a day, not massive jugs but normal sized cups.

If you can stomach it, I think you are allowed one or two cups a day. The NHS has really clear advice on this. I have had it throughout both pregnancies (mainly after first trimester as couldn;t stand the smell or taste then).

You can only have 2 cups a day if you're not having other caffeinated drinks or foods, like tea, soft drinks, or chocolate. Why not try decaf? I love coffee, so I have switched to decaf.

Maybe a silly question.....but is decaf unlimited? Or is there something other than caffiene in the coffee you're supposed to avoid?

wispaxmas · 21/10/2013 22:12

I don't know... I think it's just caffeine.

Go for it. I've had a coffee every morning (if I'd fancied one)
I think you just need to make sure that overall you're not taking to much caffeine.
