I'm so happy for you bakingtins and you only have to wait a week to see your baby again!

Bodicea · 24/10/2013 17:35

Fabulous news tins. So pleased for you xxxxxx

Been to a few aquanatal classes in last couple of weeks. Loads of mums have been going since 16 weeks. Must all have cushy jobs that allow them to bugger off for a few hours at lunch time, work shifts or are teachers who got to do in summer hols. Either that or they are proper militant about it. The thought of me telling my boss I was just going to nip out for a few hours for a bit of aqua makes me seriously quiver! It does seem so unfair that all these things that are available are only available during the day.. Would have loved to have gone earlier. Still would reccomend if anyone thinking about it and can get a bit of time off or just do when mat leave starts like me x

GuffSmuggler · 24/10/2013 17:46

fod27 · 24/10/2013 17:59

Baking that's fab!!!! Please rest up and remember the stats on hb's xxxxxx

IBelieveInPink · 24/10/2013 18:29

Bod - I know right!! I can just imagine my boss' face if I said I was taking time to go swimming - or yoga as I wanted to do. All the classes near me are in the day, or start at 5pm, so I can't get there in time.
Ah well. Had a day off today, meant to get loads of stuff done. And slept. All day. Useless! Only 4 more days of work left.....

TeaAndANatter · 24/10/2013 18:31

Congratulations all of you who've had good news at scans lately, fantastic :)

andthepiggotupandslowlywalkeda · 24/10/2013 19:42

I am so pleased Baking - that must have been just lovely to see!

Hi Wrinkly, I hope you have a lovely, smooth and boring eight months ahead of you now.

And thanks for your wishes for a better day. It must have worked because after the hand-dribble-sick incident, the rest of today was pretty good! I think the blood spot was from my sliced-up finger (I hope!).

andadietcoke · 24/10/2013 20:11

tins massive congratulations! I'm so pleased for you!

gary three months?! The babies are 8 weeks today. We've been for their 8 week checks and all is well. Jabs on Monday - not looking forward to them at all!

Pentagon · 24/10/2013 20:31

tomcat, emki, lucky and baking excellent news on your good scans! Congratulations!

sorry I disappeared...I've given birth!! Baby arrived yesterday, 23/10 at 6:10am after a 4-hour labour! I woke up at 2am feeling constipated and having some mild period pains - I thought I'd feel OK after going to the loo but no - they started getting stronger and I had to go to the loo 2 more times. I've read before that this is a sign of labour so I woke up DH and we started timing contractions which came every 2-3 min and lasted about 45 seconds. I phoned the labour ward and told them I have GBS - they said I could still use the MLU so I gave them a call and that's where I ended up at 4am. I was examined, given antibiotics and during the 20 min it took for the drip to go through they filled up the tub. To my surprise, they said there was no problem having a waterbirth (the midwife I've been seeing had said no MLU and no waterbirth), which is what I ended up having - and it was great! As it all happened so quickly, it was quite intense and painful; I had gas and air which helped a lot but as soon as I got into water the relief was immediate; and giving birth in water was amazing. This was so different to my last labour - I had a UTI, couldn't pass urine, I dilated up to 5cm on co-codamol and very gradually so didn't find it very painful but then it all stopped so I had to be induced and was given an epidural. I was in labour for 3 days. Anyway, sorry to bore you with all the details, I'm still in shock that she arrived early (I was convinced I'd give birth early November, I hadn't even written a birth plan) and that it all happened so quickly. I don't know if it's down to the raspberry leaf tablets but if that's the case, they are super effective! We were discharged this afternoon, baby's healthy (we haven't decided on a name yet), I'm feeling well and very happy and relieved (still in shock though!) xx
