do you think i can walk in to the maternity dept and ask for a scan to check all is ok. really worried. phoned docs they werent too helpful. dont know what to do?

I phoned my local unit twice, once with lack of movement and once with pains, they were very helpful both times and told me to come on down to get checked out. My surgery are useless too.
I'd say definitely phone them

How far gone are you? Up to 16 weeks you could try your local EPU. If you are further on than this, perhaps the maternity unit could listen to the heartbeat on a doppler for you. Wishing you all the best

how do you find your local epu and what does it stand for sorry to sound thick!

EPU stands for Early Pregnancy Unit - they are in most hospitals although not all of them and if you have any miscarriage worries you can usually ring them and they will often see you without a doctor's referral. You don't sound thick at all - hopefully you will never have need of one.
