Hi all I'm after some advice, I've had a google and can't find the answer.

I'm wanting to compose a basic message for when baby is born so partner can send off my phone to everyone although I can't seem to compose a message to multi recipients and save as draft on iPhone.

Has anyone done this or got any suggestions?

Many thanks

I can't do it either!! As soon as u come off it it gets deleted. There is no way to save as a draft as far as I can see! But hopefully there will be someone with an answer as I would love to do the same x

I know you can save in notes but what about the contacts? I want to make sure he(or I in my post delivery state!!) send the message to all the right people!!

Draft it and send to yourself, then forward it to anyone you want. Or u save the message like above and then u can copy the content and paste into a new message and send it to everyone

I tried to do that before I gave birth & realized you couldn't, so drafted it in Notes & typed the list of recipients as a separate note - it's a nuisance though, you'd think it'd be the same as drafting an email...

I think the only way would be to send a message out now to everyone so you have a group message already set up. Then compose another and send it to yourself, so you can cut and paste in an additional message to that group. Grin I've confused myself thereSmile

Thanks all what a total faff though! Thanks for your advice x

Surely its a fruitless.exercize as you wont know weight, time or possibly sex/name?

BikeRunSki · 17/10/2013 07:38

Surely it is a fairly short message, and most of the information (name, sex, date, time, weight...) will need editing anyway ? Wouldn't be more straightforward to wait until you've had the baby?

BlingLoving · 17/10/2013 07:40

There's an all that will allow you to do this. Let me go track it down.

BlingLoving · 17/10/2013 07:46

Ok, I used an app called SMS Groups. It allowed me to create groups of contacts and text message them. Also created those groups in my contact list so they are there. I just opened it and noticed it doesn't seem to be optimised for ios7 but try search for it or similar apps. I did not pre compose the message but got the groups set up so all I had to do was type the message and off it went. It was good too as I landed up creating slightly different groups and could send slightly different messages at different times. Eg after dh called our parents and sisters, I texted the rest of our extended family at 2 am. I only texted the raft if the world at a proper time later that day.

Thankyou BlingLoving that's what I need to do, it's the contacts that I need to sort not so much the actual message, I'll try that app thank you very much x

Off-topic, but related and might raise a laugh (it made me laugh anyway): I heard Helen Fielding (Bridget Jones author) talking about the birth of her daughter. It was a planned c-section and she composed an email birth announcement in advance to send to all her friends etc- including baby's name etc. But accidentally clicked send! So then had to email again and say, er, the baby has not actually been born yet.. Grin

ANNEGEDDES · 17/10/2013 08:31

Ha!! I have thought that might happen whilst I'm trying so hard for it not too!
