I really want a mini babymoon - one final weekend away somewhere before life changes... Forever. Midwife says not to fly after 25 weeks. What was the latest you flew, and were you ok?

Well I'm flying at 28 weeks. Didn't really occur to me when I booked the flight. But it's short haul so I'm sure I'll be fine. If it's long haul you might want to check with the airline and your midwife.

I flew to Edinburgh and back at 28 weeks for a long weekend (from London) in my last pregnancy - that's the latest some airlines will take you and it was certainly the latest I felt comfortable with as I was huge! For me it was more an issue of being uncomfortable on the flight than anything else - I wouldn't have gone further afield for that reason but there's no reason not to if you feel well and your pregnancy is progressing "normally".

I flew to the Canaries and back at 32 weeks with DD1. Just had to get a letter from my consultant saying he was happy for me to fly.

I flew at 36+4 (just within the regs of the airline I flew with). Was absolutely fine.

Depending on the airline you can fly at up to between 32 and 36 weeks

you MUST however have a doctors letter saying you are fit to fly if you LOOK TO BE over 28 weeks (note here, as I only found this out as I was HUGE and travelling at 29 weeks, I did have a letter however the check-in agent said she could have declined anyone who looked to be over the regulation number of weeks without a letter.

Lastly bear in mind you need to be prepared to give birth where you go - so make sure you have insurance that covers this and it's a place you feel comfortable with if you had to give birth suddenly (just happened to Katie Price at 32 weeks!)

ps flew at 29 weeks and was fine, although soon after I got back I had suspected DVT, and was in hospital for a couple of days which in hindsight was legs swelling due to flights...

Went to USA at 28/30 then european at 32 .

Have flown around 5 times during this pregnancy and last was out at 27 weeks back 28 weeks. All fine.

Before and During take off down as much water as possible to expand your stomach- so much you are gagging for the loo...my acupuncturist told me to look at a water bottle on taking off and see how it constricts- exactly the same is happening to our stomachs and whats inside them- so the more you can expand with water- the better. Then moment fasten seatbelt light comes off- sprint to loo for much needed wee!!!
