I'm 31 weeks pregnant and have been feeling out of sorts for a few days, mild headache on and off, tired (but I have 2 children so not surprising really), breathless. This morning I thought I'd pop to see the midwife just to get my iron levels checked again as I've been seeing black dots in my vision. A fortnight ago they were 10.9 so just a bit down and since then I've started taking 2x sachets of spatone everyday plus red meat, cabbage, broccoli etc to bring them up.
She checked my blood pressure, good, urine good, baby good and took blood for a full blood count. I felt reassured about everything else and as I was about to leave I felt the right side of my face get increasingly numb like it was being pulled down. It was really scary and after about 30 secs it passed. I went straight back to the midwife and she took me into another room and called my gp. I popped over to see my gp and he did some checks and said it sounded migraine related.
I'm home now, head feels a bit headachey and still getting black spots occasionally but I'm not sure about the diagnosis? I never get headaches unless I'm ill and the one and only time I've had a migraine was last year when I got one a few days after bashing my head on a brick sticking out of a wall (ouch).
Has anyone got any advice about my symptoms? I thought it might be that bell' s palsy that is common in pregnancy but I'm just glad it's not anything more serious tbh.
