has any one had a scan and had 2 sacs, one with a heartbeat and one empty, and then gone back for further scan weeks later and seen 2 heartbeats, she was 6 weeks and 2 days when the scan was done.

Heartbeat generally can't be seen before 6 weeks, so if one implanted quicker than the other then its possible - when have they booked the rescan for?

Writerwannabe83 · 14/10/2013 09:27

When I booked a reassurance scan in my early days the company told me not to have it done until I was at least 7 weeks as the chance of seeing heart beats before that stage is pretty low and can cause unnecessary anxiety. I ended up having it done at 7wks and 3 days and the heartbeat was very clear. Try not to worry yourself yet - easily said, I know Smile

Just to say, I had an early scan at seven weeks and had one empty sac and one heartbeat, by 10 weeks it was two heartbeats. The second baby was much smaller than her twin, and was born 5Ibs, first twin - 6Ibs. Dunno why she didn't show up at first! She is now 11 and on 90th centile for height Grin from that titchy empty sac. So it might be twins.

Thankyou swanhilda, the morning sickness has kicked in, which didn't last time till 3 months, now 7weeks and 1 day :)
