Just wondering what the norm is really incase I'm being a bit impatient. After glucose in my urine since 25 weeks she asked me to get a fmu sample tested and text her if there was any glucose.

I text her on Wednesday and Thursday to say the drs was being a pain about testing the sample and could she check the result for me when she was next at the surgery - no response. Then I finally got the result yesterday (Friday) to say there was glucose. Left her an answer phone message telling her and asking her to get back to me - still nothing back.

She did tell me the phone is switched off 9-5 while she's working, but I was hoping to at least get some response or why bother giving me the number?! She was the one who said it couldn't wait 3 weeks till my next appointment but now she seems in no hurry to act on the result. Am I being a bit unreasonable to expect her to get back to me by now?

Oh forgot to mention I'm now 30 weeks so concerned that if there's been a problem since 25 weeks I could be doing some damage to the baby

I called mine on Wednesday and left a message I am still waiting for a reply, apparently they only do clinic there Monday and Tuesday so maybe they will call then!

redcaryellowcar · 12/10/2013 06:21

I was advised to call hospital community midwife team if urgent, I would do this in your situation.

SadPander · 12/10/2013 15:00

Thanks Redcar. I wouldn't mind if I was texting out of the blue but she asked me to let her know the result, and nothing riles me more than being ignored! I did phone the community midwife office to check I had her number right but they didn't seem too concerned that she was ignoring me. Will give her till the end of Monday then try phoning community midwives again for advice. I have a number for the assessment unit but think they're for emergencies. And they wonder why pregnant women have high blood pressure!

I was Googleing this only an hour ago to see when it would end! I am 6wks 5 days and the nausea started a week ago and has been getting worse and worse. No vomiting yet though. The only things I can eat are Cocopops and plain rice cakes. Anything else makes me barf. I saw a pack of carrots in the fridge as I was putting the milk away which I had optimistically thought of having for lunch but nope! It at first was just in the late afternoon and evening but has developed into 24/7 and has woke me up the last couple of nights. I also find ice cold water through a straw is great and DH makes me fruit Smoothies to get some nutrition that I have in the afternoon. Cocopops yummy but not healthy and I spent a small fortune on ginger snaps from the British store which did not work! I can't cope now with the thought of any hot food apart from oven chips with salt on. I am trying to embrace it though as part of having a healthy baby. I have had 2 weeks off work so god knows how I am going to survive going back! The cereal may be a giveaway.... Hope you feel better soon.

livingzuid · 13/10/2013 09:48

Ps my DH left early today to go to work and I couldn't even say the word chicken without retching is it that bad for you?

livingzuid · 13/10/2013 09:49

Oh I am sorry I seem to have posted in the wrong thread I will ask for this to be moved

bebopanddoowop · 13/10/2013 09:50

She might have annual leave, definitely just call the community midwives ask for their advice or the maternity ward of the hospital that's what my midwife advises me to do if I don't get a reply from her

chickabilla · 13/10/2013 09:56

I would call the community midwives. My midwife gave me a number but told me it might take him 2 weeks to get back to me on that so I never used it as most questions are either more urgent or could wait until the next appointment. I hope you get some help soon.

Julietee · 13/10/2013 09:57

I don't have A midwife, apparently I have a midwife team. I can call and leave a message on an answerphone and then nobody will get back to me, ever. So I don't bother. Sadface.

Sammi1986 · 13/10/2013 10:01

I had bleeding at the end of week 8, I'm still waiting for my call back. Now at end of week 12.... :/

SadPander · 13/10/2013 18:38

Oh well its not just me being ignored then! Sorry to all of you having the same problem. Think I will try harrassing them if I haven't heard anything by Tuesday, and I guess if they wont help then its only a week and a bit until my next appointment. I have huge pregnancy rage lately though, so god help my midwife if I see her at my next appointment and she hasn't responded to me. I'm generally not very assertive but pregnancy has made me a bit ferocious!

In the mean time I've cut out any ovbious sugary things and switched to wholemeal bread - hope this is enough to prevent any problems for the baby.
