Persistent aching/twinging

Hello everyone,

I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant and midwives I have spoke to don't seem too concerned but I can't help but worry.

For the last month I have had this persistent ache/pain (and I mean 24/7) in the left side of my groin. It is there all the time, a feeling of constant pressure as though someone has got their hand on me and is pushing down. I normally just try and ignore it but I've just had to take some paracetamol. When it is at it's worse it twinges suddenly and the pain can radiate up towards my belly button but in general it is just a constant ache. I know we have to experience twinges and aches with as ligaments stretch but I can't understand why it is there 24/7 and why, if it was general stretching, the site of the discomfort remains the same? I'm currently off sick due to unexplained bleeding.

Like I said, two midwives didn't seem concerned and they didn't consider there might be a link behind the cause of the pain and my bleeding, but I can't stop worrying about it.

Has anyone ever had anything similar??

I would ring midwife unit at hospital, I don't think that a constant pain/ache is normal especially with bleeding too. I would want another opinion and at least an explanation to what is causing the pain x

I tried that....and spoke to my midwife face to face Wednesday afternoon.

My own midwife said that in relation to the growing and stretching it may be that I feel it more because I'm quite petite (BM of 20) and that it may be just down to the fact the baby favours lying in the left hand side of my uterus which is why I feel the constant pressure on that side.

I have a private scan booked this evening (for reassurance after my bleeds) so it will be interesting to see if anything is picked up...
