I'm newly pregnant and also new to London. A friend recommended Dr. Ayida as a consultant and I will be meeting her but would love any feedback from anyone with experience with her. I am a very nervous pregnant lady so any advice is appreciated!

Hi There!

I had a beautiful birth four weeks ago after having been looked after by Dr. Ayida for the majority of my pregnancy (we relocated internationally at the beginning of my second trimester).

This was my second birth--our first birth was in the States and although relatively straight forward from a medical perspective—left me somewhat traumatized about the process of giving birth and the hospital setting.

In short, Dr. Ayida was nothing less than amazing. Throughout the pregnancy, she spent a significant amount of time helping me work through my fears and instilling me with the confidence I needed to achieve a beautiful, natural birth. I know this might sound a bit cheesy, but I found the experience of working with Dr. Ayida and having my second baby to be an incredibly healing process. Her whole staff, including her lovely midwives (Lydia and Kristina—who also do fantastic pre-birth classes by the way!) were just wonderful and I feel so lucky to have had them as a part of my pregnancy and birthing process. Prior to deciding to go with Dr. Ayida, I interviewed a handful of other consultants to who came highly recommended on this board, but I was most impressed Dr Ayida—I found her to be the most professional, thorough, approachable and was very impressed by her obvious belief in a woman’s natural ability to give birth (which I think is an anomaly for consultants who are so often faced with abnormalities and high risk cases). When I toured the Kensington wing prior to choosing Dr. Ayida, I also questioned the midwives I met who worked there about the different consultants--they confirmed my impression that she is one of, if not the best consultant practicing at Kensington C&W. She also happens to be one of only three obstetricians who are Tatler awarded (these are the best doctors in the UK). It is no doubt that her high level of expertise left me reassured and relaxed –I knew I could trust her and ultimately that allowed my body to let go and do what it needed. I can’t recommend her more highly!

Please feel free to ping me with any other questions you have—am happy to share my experience if you would find it helpful ?
