Braxton Hicks or contractions?

Despite this being DC#2 I'm not sure!

They are every couple of hours and rather than just being a general painless tightening as they have been up til now, they are a bit painful low down in the pelvic area, and sometimes create a rather sharp pain at the top of the vagina.

Walking/exercise/moving makes them worse and more frequent...

Any guesses? I'm 38 weeks.... DC#1 was late at 41 weeks...

Not 100% sure as this is my first but I would call your midwife or hospital and check as sounds like it could be contractions x

I would suspect BH. Try getting in a warm bath and covering your bump and see how you feel. I had loads of BH which tended to ease off. I think if they keep going and keep you awake you should do as Excited says.

As someone else said try a bath

Im in tge same boat as you frogs. Have been having contractions since Thursday on and off. Today they have pretty much ongoing. Have taken some paracetamol and had a bath butam still getting them. Only thing making me doubt they are proper contractions is that they arent always very oainful, just uncomfortable.

Any ideas?

You probably won't want to hear this but a friend of mine was in the very early stages of labour for 2/3 weeks before she finally had her dc2.

Hope it eases off with the bath (or turns into proper labour depending on how fed up you are being pregnant).

Well have got toddler to sleep finally, and having a lie down myself, and they're not quite so painful.
Guess they must be braxton hicks then!
