Im pregnant with my first, about 8 weeks in now.
i feel like crap, I am just so tired all the time. I am getting breathless at the smallest exertion and I just want to lie in bed the whole time. I am not really a good exerciser, but I can normally manage a little bit. I feel like a Victorian sickly character at the moments. Any tips?

Sleep as much as you can. Get DH to cook and do housework and ask your midwife to check iron levels. Jyst in case, take pregnancy vitamins and iron rich foods.
It will pass, I promise!

Rest and recuperation, my dear. It's a real shock to the system, but it will hopefully pass in a coulle of weeks.

Also, maybe ask your midwife to check your iron levels at your booking in appt as there might be a slight deficiency.

It is totally normal though.

Hope this helps! Smile

I do feel bad for moaning but I was feeling like I should just be getting on with things..I'm not very good at being the frail one!

Thanks for posting this - I feel the same way. Not used to the constant tiredness and crappyness.

Take consolation though, it will probably get better! I'm 19 weeks now and feeling waaay more normal than I did at 8 weeks. I still get breathless and need more sleep (and food) than usual but I am much more like the old me.

I am learning to accept that running, skipping and hopping through the shops/work/social stuff is not quite how it's gonna be for me, for the next few months, but elements are possible.

I know it's a cliche but your body is doing A Lot in creating a baby and it takes it out of you. Go easy on yourself, pamper yourself and don't try to do everything. This is the one time you really have licence to take it easy.

Good luck!

Hi - agreed I feel the same! I've just been trying to nap when I can and like everyone says don't try to be wonder woman. Nobody will die if the ironing isn't done, that's how I'm starting to look at it!

I also can't stand the smell of food cooking at the moment so currently resorted to packaged foods like fresh soups etc (until the other half comes back from Italy lol then he can gladly take over).

Take it easy and like everyone here is saying it does get easier (at least that's what I'm hoping!)

Agreed! Wonder Woman was a myth sent to screw us.

Supermarkets all deliver for 2 or 3 quid these days (some for free, depending on delivery times.)

As do most shops....

Have decided to do everything online, thereby conserving my energy for washing hair, seeing the odd friend and making it through the 9-5 only.
