I'm 6 weeks pregnant today (my first so am pretty clueless!) and am getting increasingly panicked by tummy twinges I'm experiencing - I'm not actually experiencing any proper pain however am feeling strange sensations in my lower tummy (difficult to describe - can feel stuff going on but not pain) as well as occasionally on my (right) side - does anyone know if this is normal? I've wanted a baby for so so long that I am getting so worried about it going wrong....I just want to be able to relax and enjoy the pregnancy however i seem to be ruining it for myself (hormones not helping either!). Does anyone understand/ know if what i'm feeling is normal (my GP only gave me 10 mins of her time so really not much use at all)? Thank you for any advice you can offer...

sounds like implantation pains i had a pulling like feeling on my right side at the start too. if ur in severe pain or bleeding then a&e itd be but as ur not it sounds pretty normal to me. what i realised bout pregnancy is that its outta ur hands now theres little worry will do to help just try to relax, eat well and drink plenty

and congrats Grin

thank you :-)

It isn't all the time on the right side - just occasionally on and off....

Also having bouts of feeling like my period's about to come on (like that heavy feeling in my lower tummy, again no pain) - this too is on and of....do you think that's normal??

You're right about the whole "it's out of my hands" attitude - being this anxious is driving me crazy!!!

Hi Miki,

Snap I am 6wks too and experiencing this light period pain like symptoms. Feels like twinges/cramps you get just before your period starts.

I have been slightly worried but mind put to ease from this site and people's experiences. I also asked the GP and he said it was due to the changes and things expanding and testing themselves out. He certainly dumbed that down for me!

Hope it all goes well the next few weeks for you.

Congrats OP Thanks I'm gp with baby number one and just over 16 weeks Smile I didn't have any feelings of what your explaining but at 10 weeks or so I did have what felt like stretching which is perfectly normal. It's just your uterus making room for the bean to grow Grin I too have googled everything from how to help with getting pregnant to how to ease lumber back ache (already I know!)

Try and enjoy your pregnancy and I hope you have yourself a healthy baby in 34 weeks time! Smile

Hi I'm guesstimating I'm 7-8 weeks and I'm experiencing the same, although getting some higher up too. Lower it's like a dull ache but higher up it's more a little bit twingey. Not hurting as such, just an awareness that something is happening. All good signs that things are in working order I hope!

I'm like you - first time so totally clueless and overly anxious! :)
