Weird dreams and ex boyfriends

Hi all,

Im just wondering if anyone else is having the same 'problem' as me. I've been pregnant twice now, the first pregnancy ended in MC and around about the same time in both pregnancies, week 10, I've had weird dreams that have started me thinking about an ex-boyfriend. It's been a different boyfriend in each case...I'm finding it really unnerving as I really love my husband and I know he'll make a super dad. Has anyone else had this problem? Or have you been having other weird dreams?

Yes I have had the ex-boyfriend dreams. I don't think you need to worry about it to be honest - it's just your subconscious doing a bit of work to process the fact that you are now involved in something that binds you to your husband forever. I think this (and versions of this) are really really common.

That's really funny you say that, because for the past month or two I've dreamt about my husband most nights - good and bad dreams - but every single time in the dream my husband has actually been my awful ex from 10 years ago, not my actual husband!

I thought it was just me but must be a pregnancy thing!

I've had this, and I keep thinking in the dream that it's one or the other, very confusing!

I haven't had the dreams, but I have unintentionally found myself thinking about exes a lot over the last couple of weeks. I'm 4wks pg. Weird!

Yes, had a few dreams about exes, most unsettling! But then all of my pregnancy dreams have been a bit weird and so I'm not putting any stock by it.

I have too, most strangely was last nights dream about my ex from when I was 17! I dreamt he was horrified to learn I was pregnant. I have put it down to my most recent ex being less than impressed about my news (fiancé and I have been together for nearly 6 years!)

I dreamt I had an affair with Jason Manford at the weekend! (manc comedian) I have zero attraction to this man and have no idea where it has come from! I told my husband and we both laughed about it, although he did say he was slightly concerned that id 'cheated' with a man I'm not actually attracted to which made it worse! I felt so guilty when I woke up but we saw the funny side and it's become a bit of a joke.
My friend had inappropriate dreams about David Cameron when she was pregnant!
Hormones are a wonderful thing!

Omg I have been having these! Waking up each morning next to hubby thinking 'thank god' . This has been going on all this week with various exes popping up and freaking me out!

Spaghettinetti · 14/10/2013 16:23

Lol, I'm glad it's not just me!

I do seem to have moved on from this...I'm now in the 'crying for no reason' stage... :-s

I have had really strange weird dreams some I will never speak of since about 10 weeks pregnant. I have a dream book were I search each dream thinking the must have a meaning.

My hubby on the other hand says dreams are just your mind getting rid of too much information.

In your case my hubby's idea is good maybe those dreams are just of old memories don't look to deep into it.

Yon know when you have a dream wake up and wish you could continue that dream once you go bk to sleep and can't. Well since I've been preganant I can seem to carry a dream on even after a toilet break.

I don't even normally remember my dreams but seem to have remembered most.

But partly is because I'm not sleeping very well so I am more aware waking up all the time.

Don't worry about ex dreams
