I know this has been done millions of times before... But when did you start showing with your second pg?

I'm trying to hide it at work for a little while longer (10+3 now) but clothes definitely feeling tight. Was even offered a seat on the train recently Shock.

I am trying to be clever with jackets / scarves but I fear soon the maternity wear may need to come out BlushBlush

I start to swell a bit around 11 weeks. It's not the uterus i don't think - just fluid retention. The proper hard little bump doesn't really start with me until 16/17 weeks ish. When it all starts rising out of your pelvis (and you can finally get through the night without visiting the loo loads of times)(for a whileWink)

Oh but i agree about the maternity wear coming out early. I couldn't BARE any pressure from waist bands round my tum from about 10 weeks onwards.

Wildwaterfalls · 07/10/2013 17:03

Hmmm interesting fluffy! Perhaps I'll get away with it for a bit longer! Happily I think my colleagues just assume I haven't quite managed to lose the baby weight!

Terrible bloating straight away both times. I was obviously pregnant by 9 weeks 2nd time around.

McBaby · 07/10/2013 19:24

I am 10w2d today with second baby and look pregnant. I know its not the baby but I think where things have moved and I am bloated my muscles have developed in to a bump shape rather than generally bloated shape the first time around.

I have out grown all my trousers! But no where big enough for any of my previous maternity clothes.

Wildwaterfalls · 07/10/2013 19:55

It's an awkward time isn't it McBaby.. My work clothes are all a bit too tight and as soon as I get home I change into my pyjamas because I go to bed at 8 anyway

I have the opposite! 14 +3 with DC2 and don't look at all pregnant! Not even a hint of bump! Last time I was getting seats on the tube well before this point. I think it's because I've been extra careful with my diet this time-trying to keep a small tummy for a while longer...maternity clothes depress me!!still, everyone says that the second one shows fast. Get some empire line dresses for work, they will hide your tummy for a bit longer x

WillSingForCake · 07/10/2013 21:22

First pregnancy I wasn't in maternity clothes til around 20 weeks.

Currently 14 weeks into second pregnancy, and have a very obvious bump, and have done since around 9 weeks. Can't believe the difference from last time. My pre-pregnancy jeans have already been consigned to the loft!

LoopThePoop · 07/10/2013 21:31

I was about 9/10 weeks and couldn't hide it any longer.
Then again I was a size 8 and was pregnant with twins.
I just popped out over night!!
