Gagging for a cigarette

Am 19+5 weeks and all of a sudden I'd gleefully bite anyone for a fag.

I haven't smoked since testing and I thought I'd gotten away with it.

Anyone else?

(A G&T to wash the taste away would also be pleasant.......)

Hi Hun I'm 38+1 n I quit at the start, n haven't been bothered til last week,I even liked the smell if I walked by someone,I haven't got long to wait til I can av 1 (ecigs by the way!) so I feel for u. Maybe get a ecig with 0 nicotine or pretend on a pen or something,u don't wanna cave and have a fag, just rem what u av the baby has!

Omg I was like this in my first preg! It was all I could think about some days! On New Year's Eve I gave in and had one though! It was very nice and very naughty. Oh and baby was (obviously) fine! But yeah, clearly the risk is that if you have one, you'll want the pack, and before you know it you'll be smoking again so defo best not to indulge! It's weird though, I couldn't wait to smoke after my dd1 was born, but I totally went off the idea as soon as u gave birth and haven't touched one since!

I quit three years ago and normally no cravings but have had dreams about smoking whilst pregnant. I wonder if it's a pregnancy craving rather than a "real" craving iyswim.

i feel your pain. ive gone 10 months smokefree so far and still get cravings. havent given in though, too scared cos iknow theres no such thing as just the one x

I quit when i tested! :) i still crave ALOT! especially since DP still smokes. I have an ecig with the lowest nicotine and midwife and doctors have told me its a lot better than.cigs. if i didnt have my ecig then i would definately still be smoking. Praise the lord! My goal is to try to keep it up once DD is born. Although i might cave on christmas day and have one after my xmas dinner. Thats by far the best cig of the year! and luckily i wont be pregnant then lol. Due 2nd.december x

I was on 20 a day when I got my (surprise BFP) and quit on the spot - I feel your pain. 32+3 and still craving a fag. Planning on bf too so won't even be able to indulge when the wee man is born!

Think of all the extra years you will be alive to see your DC and grandchilden (prob not all that much help right now, but still!!)

And a few units of alcohol a week is fine so tuck into that G&T if you want.

Not a smoker so not craving nicotine however I would love a giant bar of chocolate and a bottle of rose wine. Pregnancy and gestational diabetes mean neither is happening for me Sad

I gave up when I came off the pill. Well I had maybe two a week at lunch with my friend. I had one true AF and then fell pg and haven't touched one since. Luckily I haven't wanted to either! I even happily roll them for my friend but never have the urge to actually smoke, plus the smell of smoke makes me want to heave! I'm now 32+4 and everyone keeps asking if I'm going to take it up again once bubbas (carrying twins) arrive. Well no, why would I if I'm not craving them? I do feel for people who still get the cravings and know I have been very lucky. I think being pregnant was the push I needed to give up when I already wanted to if that makes sense.

My chocolate intake has gone from maybe one a week to pretty much 2 a day! Not so good.....................

Good luck everyone and congratulations on the pregnancies Grin
